I've been eating at EAT for years - whenever I visit New Orleans - and have never failed to have great local food at a good price. They don't serve liquor - they're across from a school and can't, but you can bring a bottle of wine or 6 pack of beer from one of the stores nearby and they don't charge a corkage. The butter beans & shrimp is outstanding - as is the blue cheese cheesecake appetizer. It's hard to order something you won't like and the staff treats you well. I've even been there a couple of times for dinner on New Year's Eve.

This was fun, unpretentious, and better food then you'll find in many a spot in the French quarter, and for a good price as well. A touch too salty, but it wouldn't prevent me from going back. Reservations accepted. Bring your own wine.

Very small place, you need to wait outside for a table if its busy. Great vibe, I'd feel comfortable in casual or dressy clothes. Amazing Chicken Fried Chicken. It's BYOB, no corkage on the first bottle of wine or 6 pack of beer.

The food preparation here is exceptional and we ate here for both our evening meals in NOLA. The service was also exceptional, while being sufficiently laid back to suit our preferred comfort level. This place is a little out of the way, but absolutely worth the extra couple of blocks

We ordered take out to bring back to our hotel for our last night in New Orleans. Had I realized how perfect this restaurant was, I would have eaten there every day. Crisp fresh salad with a tangy vinaigrette; spicy, fresh greens; red beans & rice; chicken livers; leek gratin and fig blue cheese tarte. Every single dish was seasoned just right.
Though we ate our fool faces off, we didn't feel stuffed or in a typical New Orleans food coma.
Hosts were really friendly and EAT is a great value. Go!!
