Voted by locals as one of the top BBQ restaurants in Gambit's annual "Best Of..." issue and known for dishes such as their pulled pork, which is cooked for 14 hours over oak and pecan wood and served with two sides and a piece of garlic-buttered Texas toast, as well as the corn pudding, which is a cornbread souffle baked with whole sweet corn. VooDoo BBQ & Grill is the sound, the soul, the taste of BBQ, New Orleans-style. Brisket, pork, chicken, gumbo, salads and burgers all with the spice and magic of Louisiana.

“Started here in New Orleans”

Voodoo BBQ is a small, fun place to enjoy Louisiana standards like Jambalaya. Their variety of barbecue sauces enhance the flavor of the delicious smoked meats. We liked the greens which is one of several side dishes to choose from. Service is fast and friendly with only a short wait for your food. Prices are very fair. We will definitely return when we're in town. They also sell beer.

“Great Food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2013

This place has great BBQ at a reasonable price. Best brisket I've had since visiting Dallas ten years ago. We all got something different and tried each others food....brisket, pulled pork, corn pudding, etc. All was good. The service was friendly also.

“Good BBQ”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2013 via mobile

Had the ribs, potato salad, and pulled pork sandwich. The potato salad was really good. They have different sauces for whatever choice of meat. The prices are about average. I would go there again next trip to New Orleans.

“Darn good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2013

You order from the counter and they bring out your dishes to the simple wooden table. I ordered pulled pork and it was slow-cooked, brined, and not at all greasy - just the right texture. Not smoked, if you want flavor beyond salt you need to use one of the tasty sauces at the table. The gris gris greens were basically collard greens, again not spiced or with meat flavoring but tasty. One of my companions had back ribs which he said were excellent. They seemed to be slow cooked as well. My other companion had salad and a potato skin thing which she was not too fond of - this seems to be a place for meat dishes. The manager or owner came out and circulated among the tables. He seemed sincerely interested in the diner's enjoying their meal.

“Decent quick meal”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 11, 2013

Order from the counter and sit down and they will bring it to you. I had a grilled chicken salad and others had their BBQ sandwiches. Everything was great. We just wanted a quick bite to eat to hold us over until dinner down in the French Quarter and this was a nice find (right across from our hotel).
