“Not epic gourmet, but try the Gator!”
Reviewed March 26, 2013

This place was recommended to us as having the best blackened Gator in NOLA. I haven't tried enough to speak authoritatively on that but it was absolutely delicious. Outside of that the food was pretty good with generous portions, and the service solid all at typical French Quarter prices. The atmosphere is a bit hard to place I will say, it has kind of a novelty restaurant feel, but some of the decor and the lighting makes you think more upscale. Anyways, a worthwhile trip for the gator!

“terrific food, reasonable prices”
Reviewed March 25, 2013

The seafood is top-notch!! We spent 3 nights in New Orleans and ate each evening at Ralph and Kacoo's. The menu has fabulous seafood - crab platter, shrimp platter, stuffed crab shells, fried shrimp (the batter is light, allowing the flavor of the fish to be fully tasted). The gumbo is outstanding - and the salad with crab meat (about a pint) is wonderful.
I urge you to dine there; the wait staff is friendly, knowledgeable and non-hovering.

“Service was terrible”
Reviewed March 24, 2013

We had reservations and were seated promptly. That's where the service ended. The service was absolutely terrible. The atmosphere was pleasant and had a NOLA "feel". When the food arrived, it was good but not great. I really expected more from this place.

“A Happy Find, Korbel brandy available here”
Reviewed March 21, 2013 via mobile

We were looking for good food, reasonable prices and a less frantic pace for the Quarter than was usual for restaurants. This place had no lines, friendly welcoming staff and good food. A note for those from the mid-west, Korbel brandy is available at this bar!

“Solid Traditional Food”
Reviewed March 19, 2013

A smaller Louisiana chain does a solid fried platter and other standards. Good for larger groups with some people that have timid palates. Something for everyone and it won't offen anyone.

That said, avoid the hurricanes. You are forced to buy the glass and that sets you back $13/drink. The hurricane less the glass at Pat O'Briens is 'only' $8 after you return the glass for the $3 deposit.
