After walking around the French Quarter we decided to make a reservation at this restaurant for the following evening. It had a great atmosphere and the pizzas were excellent. The wine was reasonably priced. It was the best meal we ate in New Orleans.

On our last evening of a short visit to New Orleans, we were unsettled as to what to have for dinner and where to have it. We walked blocks and blocks through the French Quarter and, for some reason, nothing was sounding right. We were topped off with oysters and crab and thought that some simple Midwest food sounded good. So we set off in search of pepperoni pizza.
An on-the-fly phone search led us to Louisiana Pizza Kitchen. This was another several blocks away from where we were, but it was well worth the walk.
The staff was very friendly and helpful and knew what they were doing.
We started with the Freshwater Mozzarella Salad and the Greek With Cherry Tomato Salad. These were both beyond excellent. The servings were generous, the ingredients were fresh, the presentation was pleasing, and the eating was a delight.
We then each had a Pepperoni Classic Pizza. The menu contained some very creative pizza options, but we kept it simple. We chose the unbleached, untreated flour crust. Whole wheat crust was also offered. They were prepared in a wood-burning brick oven, which is our favorite choice for pizza baking. They did it flawlessly. There were also plenty of choices for those not wanting pizza, including appetizers, salads, wraps, and pasta dishes. We also enjoyed a very nice Côtes-du-Rhône that was offered on the wine list.
New Orleans has some great dining. If you have have had your fill of oysters, crab, crawfish, gumbo, jambalaya, and po' boys -- or if you want to try some of that on a pizza -- then the Louisiana Pizza Kitchen is a great option. Highly recommended and reasonably priced.

Brick oven pizza with a paper thin crust. Good taste but not what I was expecting. The rest of the menu looked wonderful and the staff was pleasant and efficient.
