“Expensive, but you just need to do it sometimes”
Reviewed May 2, 2012

Had yet another great meal at Morton's. This place never disappoints, the filet's are awesome and the desserts are just as good.

If you have never spent the extra $$ and gone to Morton's, you should give it a try.

“Great Food...but it stops there”
Reviewed April 23, 2012

My wife took me to Morton's for a "late birthday" celebration. We had heard much about this restaurant from friends and although the reviews were “mixed” she decided to give this a try knowing my love of steaks and the fact that we had never dined there before.

I will say that all the food, from the drinks, escargot, steaks, shrimp, scallops, sides, and even the dessert were all PERFECT and delicious. She had informed them that this was a birthday celebration and they had mock menus printed with “Happy Birthday” on them and had sprinkled some celebratory glitter on the table which added nice touches to the dinner.

But from the moment we walked in to the moment we left everyone that worked there from the hostess, to the servers, to the maitre d not once knew how to “smile”. The entire service felt very “sterile”. And although everything was serviced promptly, we felt like we were “rushed”.

Bottom line, great food, but lacks the type of service that make this a great dining experience…especially for of the most expensive restaurants in New Orleans. I doubt we will be back again.

“Morton's did not live up to it's reputation!”
Reviewed April 5, 2012

Visited here during the Final Four this year! Arrived at four o'clock for dinner and was told by the server there were changes to the menu. We ordered drink and bread was brought to the table which was not fully baked. The middle was very doughy and chewy! We then ordered sirloin from the "new" menu. After a few minutes the server returned to say they were. Out of all sirloin steak!! We both ordered filets, medium rare that came to the table rare! We sent them back for further cooking while our sides sat getting cool! As we began eating, the manager came to the table to apologize for not having sirloin, saying they were very busy this weekend! Not an excuse we wanted to hear. We told him that we have gone to Morton's in Boston and were never disappointed by the menu choices. He just walked away! Although the filets were very tender, they were not what we had hoped for in going to a famous STEAKHOUSE!

“Steak in New Orleans”
Reviewed April 1, 2012

Had a bone in Ribeye, it was cooked well and had a nice taste. Steaks here are always good. They were good this time as well, but not great. For the price, the meat should be bette. Still all and all a great meal

“Amazing service!”
Reviewed March 27, 2012

My fiancee and I dine out a lot in New Orleans. Over the years, we've noticed all the good and bad things about many popular places in the city. Our last trip to Morton's had us both amazed at the great effort both the front and the back of the house went to to make our night so memorable. It was a special occasion and I had noted that when I booked the reservation. Well we were promptly seated to a very intimate table tactfully decorated for the special occasion. Within minutes our hostess had returned to take our picture and then several minutes later she returned with our photo neatly tucked in a Morton's frame with the date and everything. This was completely complimentary. Our server was great, she timed our courses out perfectly, made great drink suggestions, and brought out the hot chocolate cake for dessert without our asking for it and it was delicious! Easily one of the best desserts we've ever had (and, again, it was complimentary). We had picked out Morton's to celebrate because of our great experiences there and they truly went above and beyond to make sure we had zero regrets about our decision. We'll definitely be going back.
