We ate at Acme three different times during our trip to New Orleans. The food is always great and the chargrilled oysters are the best in the city and a MUST have. We tried them at a few different places but no one makes them like Acme.

There's usually a line at the door but if you want to sit at the bar the wait isn't long and the ladies at the door are very friendly.

Love this place, such great food and a great place to get a quick and affordable meal.

Thank Rick G

The oysters were large and very fresh. The prices seemed reasonable. The place was always busy and had long lines out the door most every evening. Go early.

We just came back from our girl's weekend in New Orleans and love Acme Oyster House! We actually dined there 3 times during our visit. The first day there were only two of us and we were quickly seated at the bar where the oyster shucking (I think that's what you call it!) was happening. Edward graciously welcomed us to Acme and New Orleans. HIs smile and enthusiasm was contageous! He suggested the charbroiled oysters, which were amazing. While we only thought we needed 6...we were happy to eat the entire dozen. It was fun to sit at the bar and visit with Edward, watch the shucking, and enjoy our first hour in New Orleans.

We also ended our visit at Acme. This time we had four in our party and we didn't get there until 9:30 pm. The hostess was so warm and friendly and when we asked for Edward she said, "Grab a drink and we will get you seated". She gave us big hugs and welcomed us with her wonderful smile! After getting our drinks we were seated within about 5 minutes. We ended the trip with delicious po-boys, oysters, red beans and rice, hushpuppies and gumbo. Since it was late we were one of the last tables in the restaurant. As we worked our way to the front of the restaurant, everyone gave hugs and thanked us for coming.

If anyone is looking for great food, wonderful people, fantastic service and good prices...head to Acme Oyster House. You won't be disappointed.

We can't wait to go back!

We ate here while visiting NO with 2 teenagers. Since they would not appreciate the better resaurants we were looking for a place that had a good seafood dinner. This fit the bill. The quantities were more than enough, the food was hot & served quickly, and the atmosphere was one that would appeal to the teen group.

If you like oysters and fried fish, this is a must visit. If you see a waiting line to eat, do not get disappointed, it moves very fast.
Try to sit at the bar close to the door where they open the oysters.
You must eat the grilled Oysters, or just the plain chilled oysters, they are the best, the fried fish as well excellent
