A favorite stop for me when in town for oysters and other pub type seafood. A lot of activity, good food, very good service, fair prices, and a bustling slam bam atmosphere...but fun! Must be good folks wait in long lines to get in so avoid the lunch and dinner hours if you can.

We almost skipped ACME this trip but glad we didn't.

We had a Wednesday night dinner with less than 5 min wait for two people.

The drinks arrived very quickly, followed by our dozen oysters on the half shell. Great oysters, huge, cold, and fresh.

Next we had some grilled oysters, do not miss these! Loaded with plenty of cheese and cooked perfectly.

Finally had to try something different...so we had the fried oyster platter (I know, but gotta have oysters in NOLA) platter was huge. Loaded with plenty of oysters, fries and hush puppies.

We left stuffed with good food.

If you have not eaten at ACME, its worth the wait...if you have eaten at ACME you know how good it is.

One word to describe all of our food-DELICIOUS! We ordered the oysters on the half shell, the jambalaya, the Fried Peace Maker Po'Boy and the etouffee. The oysters were the best raw oysters we have ever had. The oysters had a freshness and flavor unlike anything that we have in California. The jambalaya was the best we had anywhere in New Orleans. Wow, it is making my mouth water just thinking about it! The po'boy was great and the etouffee was okay. Next time we are here we are going to try the Charbroiled oysters. Can't wait to come back again!

By far the best thing we had in New Orleans were the charbroiled oysters at Acme. Good atmosphere, right around the corner from Bourbon Street so you can watch with entertainment as you stand in the long line to get in. Aside from the line, it was a good experience. Good service also.

Acme Oyster House was the first restaurant we ate at upon arriving to New Orleans. I am not a fan of oysters at all, but the charbroiled oysters were pretty amazing. The po boy sandwich was exceptional and the gumbo was great! We had a peacan dessert too which was pretty good, only second best to Commander's pie.

Sitting at the oyster bar was pretty fun getting to be a part of the "chit-chat" with staff. The food can take a little bit of time occasionally, but this is because the place is usually packed. I recommend going to eat around 4:00 - 5:00 pm before the lines get crazy later in the evening.

The food is great and the atmosphere is fun. Try the local beer with the meal, great place!
