“Oh Yum!”
Reviewed April 7, 2014

No reservations here so go early which worked well for us on our 1st night. It is tiny, above an equally tiny bar. Seated quickly by one of the 2 waiters, offered beverages, & given the menu of the day. 3 of us shared mussels in white wine & garlic for a starter. Sublime! Then veal with ocean sauce, mahi with shrimp sauce, & salmon. Generous pours of wine-by-the-glass. Food here set the standard for the rest of our trip quest - great local food at reasonable prices.

“The best meal we had in NOLA”
Reviewed April 6, 2014

A street guy recommended Adolfo's. Another traveler-customer said he was eating here because it was so good ten years ago. We ate everything the area had to offer, and this was the best meal we had on our 13-day trip from San Antonio to New Orleans and into Louisiana! The atmosphere is quaint and cozy - red-checkered table cloths, just a few tables in tight quarters.

“Some good Some not so good”
Reviewed March 31, 2014

After hearing so much about this place, we tried it. With your meal you are offered pasta or salad. The salad is just that: salad greens with a dressing which was ok but sort of tasted like a bit of horseradish was in it. The pasta was just a bowl of pasta with a bit of sauce. The bread is odd as it is a plate of sliced french type bread but sort of toasted without any looks of being toasted. I would give the bread a very low mark. The fish dinners were excellent but a bit salty. The portions of the fish dinners were very good. The rack of lamb? Well, for $26 one would expect more. This rack of lamb was so tiny and over cooked that the person eating it left hungry. The service was fine. The restaurant had napkins on the floor in several areas. The bathroom was clean. This is a "cash only" which also means that the amount of $ being taken in is 3% more as they do not pay credit costs. One would think that this alone, would have prices more reasonable?

“Great service and food!”
Reviewed March 26, 2014

I don't know what is up about the negative reviews, maybe I was there on a good night but our table of 7 had great service!! Our meal was great (I had the chicken parm and it was good but) the STEAK was AMAZING!!! They sat our table of 7 immediately. We had our drinks in just a few minutes and meals came out not too much longer after that.

“True New Orleans”
Reviewed March 24, 2014 via mobile

This hole in the wall located in the fabourg marigny serves the best food for the money in the city. Don't come here if you don't want to wait an hour for a table. Don't come here if you are looking for ambiance. And it is cash only. But if you want to experience a real New Orleans funky, cool, laid back experience with great food and large portions, this is the place. Put your name on the list and walk down the street while you wait and listen to music. Frenchman street is where the locals go to listen to music, watch people and "pass a good time".
