We visited Café Beignet as part of our food tour when we tried the beignet - very nice. We fell in love with the Music Legends Park and spent many hours sat listening to the excellent jazz, eating muffaletta, and drinking various cocktails including the Bourbon Milk Punch. It was quite amusing watching the sparrows eating the sugar spilt all over the tables from the beignets - sugar rush- and one sparrow took great interest in a piece of pecan pie we purchased! The only down side was some of the service. Although the youngsters behind the food counter were very friendly, that could not be said about the waitress taking orders for drinks at the tables. We visited the park on 3 occasions and the same waitress was on - she never raised a smile once and was openly rude at times. She even had the temerity to bring us our drinks and then stand there waiting for a tip - which she patently didn't deserve! The lady behind the bar was just as abrupt and, if it wasn't for the magical atmosphere of the park and the fantastic jazz being put on by various artists, we would not have returned there.
