Description: Peche Seafood Grill. In French, "peche" means "catch." Inspired by trips to Spain and Uruguay, Peche will focus on seafood cooked over an open wood fire. Diners can watch as the seafood, along with meats and vegetables, cooks over the flames. The dishes, though, will still be rooted in Louisiana. The restaurant is a partnership between chefs Donald Link (Herbsaint, Cochon), Stephen Stryjewski (Cochon) and Ryan Prewitt, although Prewitt will have primary authority over the new kitchen. Housed in a restored 19th-century building, Peche will share the modern aesthetic of Cochon. According to the Link Restaurant Group, the restaurant will have "high, pickled-wood ceilings; large, soaring windows; a thick-topped Cypress bar; and a marble top oyster bar."

Great vibrant atmosphere. Thoughtful food selection. Well prepared meals. A great casual fine dining establishment in NOLA. Service staff a bit impersonal but certainly not enough to tarnish the experience. Will come again no doubt!

I had lunch at Peche recently on a scalding hot New Orleans day. The owner, Ryan Prewitt, had already catered a lunch for a large group I was with and it was fabulous. Smothered catfish, greens, gumbo, and more for 35 people and you would never have known it wasn't cooked to order for each person. But the day I went alone I had just raw oysters. I have eaten raw oysters all over the world and these were the absolute best I have ever tasted. The restaurant is lively, comfortable, airy, and the service is so friendly the staff treats you as if they've known you forever. I will definitely be back every time I visit New Orleans again.

Only open for 4 months, Peche operates like a well established restaurant. Our online reservation did not appear on their book; however, we were seated quickly. The wait staff does it all and our waitress was attentive and spot on with her recommendations. The seafood salad was accompanied by housemade crackers. The menu is such that it encourages sharing which is what we did as well as other nearby tables. We ordered a wonderfully prepared whole fish of the day, redfish salsa verde. Sides showcase Donald Link's Cajun heritage, and we enjoyed the smothered okra and tomato dish and brabant potatos which were perfect for swiping through the tasty juices on the fish platter. We ended the meal with the peach crisp. Their coffee is the perfect cup, full bodied and tasting as fresh as your morning cup.

I was in town visiting friends and swung by Pesche Seafood Grill for lunch. The location is in the Warehouse District of New Orleans that has become fairly hip and popular for restaurants and clubs.

The wait staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly, was present when needed and out of sight when not. The selection of fresh fish both cooked and raw (raw bar) was very large. They had a wine list to match.

Our only concerns were both the noise level - due to the space with only the restaurant half full it was very loud. The other complaint is that the portions are rather small and expensive for the cost.

That being said, the food was very well prepared, courses came out together and the atmosphere was a lot of fun.

Definitely will try them again next time we're in town.

We were there with a group of 10, 2 were not seafood eaters so had the chicken options. All enjoyed the starters and mains, and the desserts were really good too.
