typical diner, cheap food made to order from the grill and is open until 4pm so can get breakfast or late lunch. Stryo foam plates, plastic forks, two long tables for community seating. Order at the back counter, they call your number, eat, then pay on the way out. Fast, easy, cheap. Food is very good for a diner, not greasy. Red Beans and smoked sausage with a 20oz fountain drink was just under $10. Menu consists of breakfast, poboys, fried seafood, and a couple of plate lunches. Service is super friendly. I would recommend this place if you can overlook a dingly little hole in the wall in order to get good food at cheap prices and friendly service. Perfect location in the CBD on St. Charles between Canal and Poydras.

Fredricks was near the hotel where we stayed.
We passed it several times - then decided to go for lunch.
Good decision.
Stop here - you will be happy.

If you want real NOLA diner food, this is the place. Stopped for lunch and it was a great value. So good, we returned for breakfast! Fred is friendly and loves to talk about his town. Stop in for a hometown meal.

FredRicks has great food. It's geared towards people who work in the office buildings in New Orleans, so you know their food is good authentic New Orleans food and at a great price, too. It's a little small and a little crowded during their lunch rush, so you might not want to bring a stroller at that time. But it's great to eat where the locals eat, and not pay much. And the people working there are very friendly, too.
