Deanie's is a very well run restaurant with delicious local food. We were in a large group and had our own private room. The food included alligator sausage (so good!) crawdads and fantastic fried oysters. The service was prompt and really efficient. I was quite impressed with the place and would go back.

Went on a Saturday night and was told wait would be an hour and a half but wife thought it would be good based on the crowd. There appeared to be visitors and also locals. Luckily wait was just over an hour. Service seemed a bit slow but I think they call it relaxed in the south. Ordered gumbo, salad, shrimp dinner and crawfish dinner. Food was very good and portions were large, splitting the dinner would have been a good idea based on having starters. Everybody around us looked to need doggie bags. Unfortunately we didn't have any room for dessert.

The red potatoes served as a free apetitizer are wonderful. The service is fast and friendly and the seafood platter is excellent. As most New Orleans type restaurants, the place can get noisy.

From our first vist to NOLA Deanies has been a place to stop for dinner. We've always been satisfied, but not so much this visit. As usual, the restaurant was packed with people and had a two hour wait for a table. Once seated, the first thing I noticed is that they no longer gave us a bowl of their hot boiled red potatoes - the portions were much smaller and the quality was just thrown together. I ordered stuffed shrimp - they gave me six which looked impressive on the dish, but the shrimp were the size of quarter under the pile of bread stuffing. My husband ordered the stuffed sole - the portion was small and didn't look very appetizing to me, however, he said it was tasty. I'll have to rethink visiting there on our next trip down.
