“Excellent Food, Excellent Service, Friendly and Satisfying”

After finding this restaurant online, we have been 5 times and taken business clients 2 additional times. The food is consistently good, Tony the owner is fabulous as is the servers, and the atmosphere is conducive to romance or business. It is a definite must go to restaurant!

“Great choice for Uptown dining”

Excellent food - attentive and friendly staff - creative menu and food pairings. Casual atmosphere. Tad pricey but not too bad. I would eat there again.

“Excellent food in a festive atmosphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 7, 2009

This is a fun, comfortable restaurant with good food...and it's open on Sundays!
Mint juleps were delicious. Fried oysters were the best we have had anywhere. The gumbo is superb, because they get the roux exactly right (unlike at Galatoire's the previous night, where the gumbo tasted floury). A filet mignon, one of the specials, was tender and tasty. The service is cheerful but a bit disorganized. The wine list needs to be expanded, and red wines were served much too warm, but this is pretty much the norm at restaurants everywhere, unfortunately. I could have asked for an ice bucket, but didn't want to cause a lot of confusion on a busy night.
This was our second visit this year, and we will definitely go back next time we are in NOLA.

“wonderful laid back brunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2008

I recently had brunch at Café Atchafalaya with my husband and we were delighted with the new look of the interior (ok I know they re-did it ages ago but it had been years since I had been) It’s open and airy where it used to be a little awkward.
Our service was efficient and friendly and my husband enjoyed a Pirates Punch, I tasted it and it reminded me a bit of a Port O’ Call monsoon, but in a smaller more civilized portion.
The menu had plenty of tempting choices and they were accommodating about altering a dish slightly for a vegetarian. (Eggs benedict with tomato slices instead of Canadian bacon) My husband loved the grillads and grits. I like the mix of local specialties and traditional favorites. It’s a great place to bring your out of town guests.
