Antoine's hosted our group in an upstairs room with a private balcony. We had a couple of dedicated waiters that were really good: very professional, but entertaining too. While the food was excellent, beware that old-school New Orleans entrees are not light fare and rarely include anything green. The lights-off baked Alaska was the coup de gras. The bar is also friendly and comfortable, suitable for pre or after drinks.

“"Summer Lunch Special" was ok....”
Reviewed June 26, 2013

3 courses for 20 bucks, what's not to like, right? My Vichyssoise was a highlight, but the Oysters 1-1-1 were left on the "pass" a little too long maybe? The main courses - Pork Provence and Scallops Marseilles were just ok, sauces were a bit lack-lustre and not very pleasing to the eye. The star was the cheesecake dessert, worth 20 bucks just for that!! Ask for a tour around the restaurant, it's the history of New Orleans in a nutshell, Mardi Gras Krewes, the stories about prohibition, the wine cellar, all fantastic, I wish the food had been as good, but for 20 bucks and with a 25cent martini inside me I was happy!

Reviewed June 23, 2013

Imagine having a three course lunch in a landmark site for onlly 20.13. And the twenty five cent martini's. Started with a chooice of threeappetizers..we eacg got the oysters 1-1-1. Which was bienville, thermidor and rockefella..great. entrees we each selected differently, scallops, veal, and pork..all excellent. Dessert wealso chose differently..bread pudding, cheesecake, and chocolte sundae...weshared and in a close vote the read pudding won. Great service by charlie d. And a super. Tour of the building by jeff who is a back waiter. An experience not to miss..fifth generation ownership. Since 1840.

“A trip back in time”
Reviewed June 23, 2013

Antoine's is one of the oldest restaurants in New Orleans. It is still owned by the original family. The service is impeccable. The food is five star. I had oysters Rockefeller ( invented here), trout almandine, creamed spinach, and chocolate mousse. It was delicious. After dinner we were taken on a tour of the other 14 dining rooms. The rooms are beautiful and the walls are decorated with pictures of famous people who have dined there. Before moving to the dining room we had drinks in the bar served by a wonderful woman who answered our questions about Katrina and told us some personal stories about her own experience. It brought tears to my eyes. All in all, it was an unforgettable evening.

“Go for lunch”
Reviewed June 23, 2013

It's old world elegance, the restaurant have history, class and the price to go with it but I went for their summer lunch special ($20.13) for a 3 courses meal. Granted I could use more food but what I got was very good, plus I went more for it's name and history. The restaurant have 17 dining room and each is tastefully decorated, some covered with pictures and history of Mardi Gras and pictures of celebrities who had dine there.
