We were told to dress nicely for our Sunday brunch, and was dissapointed when the people next to us were wearing football jerseys and sneakers. Stuffed mushrooms came out room temp. But the mimosa's and the live jazz was great!

We decided to have lunch here after doing the food tour and sampling their Gumbo.
We went for lunch planning to do their special lunch menu which was just over $20 but then decided to order off the menu.

The food was amazing - I had the soft shell crab with almonds and my husband had the oysters Rockerfellar and Gumbo.
The highlight of the experience was the service. Our waiter went out of his way to make it quite the experience for us - gave us an overview of history of Antoine's, asked if we wanted a tour and got our menu's signed by the head chef to take home as souvenirs.

It was well worth the experience and we would highly recommend it.

The food is outstanding. Our favorite waiter, Charlie Downs, always takes care of us. Outstanding services and suggestions. The owners are spot on with making this a friendly, welcoming enviroment yet have kept the family elegence and charm of years gone by. Way to go Rick and Lisa!!

I have been dining at Antoine's since the 1980's and although it has seen better days it still is a handsome restaurant with very good food. It has modernized it's product with the semi-new Hermes Bar and they have pared down the voluminous menu, once written entirely in French! The food is heavy in Creole and now some Cajun. It helps to rely on your waiter for recommendations. Their beef and their seafood is usually impeccable.
Recently I have seen a malaise in the dining staff but it just might be temporary. The Guste family, who owns it, really need to do more advertising or something to revitalize this space. When this place is hopping and busy it's a magical place. It would rock if they were at least connected to a major hotel...but I digress.
Appetizers are usually the way to go. Try Oysters Foch, Crabmeat Ravigote, Shrimp Remoulade, Turtle Soup and any of the salads. The fish amandine hasn't been great...seems like they only use the tail portion for lunch. I

we stumbled upon this place by chance and had no knowledge of it's famous history. our encounter began with a friendly conversation with Charley (the waiter) who showed us the menu. the menu items piqued our interest and the wine list was amazing. food was wonderful - crawfish bisque, seafood gumbo, rib steak, cafe diablo (a must-try!).

Charley & Marshall were our servers and they gave us an unforgettable dining experience (service alone would have 5/5 stars). Charley shared the history of the restaurant (where oysters rockefeller were created) and gave us a tour of the many dining rooms (15 in total but we toured only the 1st floor rooms).

Thank you very much for making our visit to New Orleans so wonderful and memorable!
