My husband and I were walking along Magazine street on a Tuesday, when it seems that a lot of the nicer restaurants tend to be closed for lunch. We decided to be spontaneous when we saw this cute little corner restaurant that was open and still serving lunch in the late afternoon. The room was lovely, and we were seated right away as there were many available tables. My lobster sandwich was excellent, and my husband couldn't get enough of the fresh oysters. Great selection of wine and cocktails as well.

It is committed trip to get to Lilette if you are in the Quarter or CBD but it is indeed worth the trip. The space is open and very comfortable, great clean washrooms which is such a treat. The service is kind and dignified. The cocktails are really inventive and excellent. The food is carefully prepared and very, very tasty. Good wine selection and fairly priced for the quality of the experience. It is worth having a super night at Lilette. Nice and romantic too.

This visit we had a car which made getting back to our hotel much easier than our last visit. Remembering the oysters from our last lunch here, they remain a top choice for us at Lilette. Service was excellent and our dinner lingered on longer than we imagined. All of a sudden we looked up and found ourselves alone and then noticed the Closed sign had been posted on the door. Our waiter never hinted we were there past closing time and continued to refresh our coffee as we chatted about our day. Better than average food and great service. We will come back.

I visited Lilette with friends for lunch. I ordered soup and a salad, a friend ordered a sandwich special, and another ordered the soup and a salad. Fifteen minutes after we sat down someone finally asked if we wanted drinks. We ordered glasses of wine. An hour later the waitress kept asking if we wanted more wine - No, we wanted food! She was actually rude when we asked if the food would be coming soon. When it finally came, it was nothing special and it was hard to understand how a soup and a salad took almost an hour and 45 minutes. It was not even that crowded. Most of the time the server ignored us. We ate quickly and left.

Feels like a Paris bistro, with a kicked-up NOLA menu. Try the sizzling shrimp. Desserts are beautiful and delicious. Good wine list. Close to shops and galleries on Magazine, so it's a great lunch or dinner destination if you want to browse a bit.
