Returned, and the food was fabulous and the service prompt and friendly. It was a little loud but everyone was having fun.

“Our best dining experience in New Orleans!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 27, 2013

We'd read great reviews about this place prior to our trip to New Orleans...and they couldn't have been more right! We had our favorite dining experience at this cozy spot one afternoon. Our server was Brian, and he explained each of the dishes and recommended perfect wine pairings.
We began with the sizzling shrimp, antipasto platter and a specialty dish, lamb meatballs. All were delicious. My wife had the hangar steak for her main, and I had the speckled trout, another special of the day. Unbelievable. Our meal was completed with what my wife calls "the best dessert she ever had"- their Nutella custard with fleur de sel, caramel cream and chocolate-hazelnut brittle. This dessert will knock your socks off!
We can't wait to come back to Lilette...definitely one place you don't want to miss!

“Excellent food!”

The menu was interesting and the food was perfection. We somehow got forgotten and had to practically tackle our waiter to take our order after 35 minutes, but he recovered well and everything went smoothly after that.

“One Of Our Favorites!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

Lilette's was recommended to us by a local and we couldn't have enjoyed it more!
Its a lovely little restaurant, away from the business district, and reservations are a must.
The service was attentive and friendly; the food delicious.
With 6 of us, we sampled the Hanger steak tartare, grilled beets, duck confit, white truffle toast with mushrooms for appetizers - all were exquisitely prepared.
Then we enjoyed the roasted poulet (good but typical chicken breast), the hanger steak (excellent), the lamb (very good), the duck breast (perfection), and a fish.
We ended the meal with an assortment of desserts - nutella custard, chocolate bread pudding, a napolean flaky torte - each of us had a favorite.

“Great food and atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

Lilette is obviously a wonderful and popular neighborhood restaurant on Magazine Street. A dad was there with his little girl for a "father/daughter date night". I don't know who had more fun!! A couple came in with a plate of cookies for the staff. They have a standing reservation every Friday night for 2 seats at the bar to dine. She makes homemade cookies every week for the staff at Lilette and Bouligny Tavern next door. What does that tell you about the quality of the food and service and atmosphere?!?

Our food was excellent from the bread to dessert. My lamb sirloin was done to perfection and just the right amount. My husband's filet was tender enough to cut with a fork and so delicious. The pistachio pot de creme was the perfect ending to a wonderful meal.

I loved that a glass wine was poured at your table from the bottle rather than being brought from the bar. The pours were generous.

All in all, another go to place for the next time we are in NOLA.
