We had heard about Coulis and we looked it up on Trip Advisor. We perused the menu on the site and we’re so excited to get fried green tomatoes and some sandwiches. Unfortunately, this trip advisor listing is outdated. It still has the menu (and store front photo) of the prior restaurant called Bluebirds. We were so disappointed to learn they don’t serve fried green tomatoes, nor do they offer lunch on weekends. At 1pm, we had to order breakfast food. We wanted to leave but felt bad so we stayed. Our server was lovely. The food was fine. Not spectacular. But good enough. If you’re a breakfast fan, you’ll enjoy the options. Otherwise, there are tons of great lunch places nearby.

By the way, we asked our server why their trip advisor listing is wrong and she just said “oh, yeah it has the previous restaurant on there.” She didn’t seem to care much when we suggested she have the owner if Coulis correct the issue. It’s not the end of the world, but trip advisor only works if the listings are accurate.

we stumbled upon this little restaurant last week. Was looking for a place for brunch close to our restaurant and went there. Cute little place and the food was very good. You couldn't ask for better service. Nice, friendly and efficient service.Would highly recommend it.The best value for your money

This restaurant was recommended by our Airbnb host. It was definitely not a tourist destination. I like places that aren’t chain restaurants and Coulis fits that description. It was a very old building and it felt historical. In Florida, where we live, everything is very new so I liked the character of the restaurant. It was not crowded. We did not have to wait long for the food. I had eggs and sautéed mushrooms. I tried to keep it healthy but there was more oil then I use at home. My son had steak and eggs and he enjoyed his meal. Both were very tasty. Price was on par with other places in New Orleans.

This dish was unbelievable. It's corn cakes with jalapeno peppers, pulled pork on top of that, 2 poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. It was more than I could eat but the flavors were incredible. It's called Eggs Benicio on the menu, but it's their version of Eggs Benedict. The service was a bit slow and under attentive, but the food was certainly worth it!

We had breakfast here this morning after a year's absence from the city, and it is as good as it was. As excellent, I mean. The omelette is still perfectly cooked and the mushrooms are nice and chunky; the buckwheat pancake, with banana, blueberries, whipped cream, and powdered sugar, is still my favorite restaurant pancake of all time. The broiled tomato is probably what a tomato most wants to become. The coffee is also excellent. The only fault is in the maple syrup, but then we live in upstate NY and get our syrup from our own trees. We are spoiled... .
And as to the service: you couldn't ask for it to be nicer, friendlier, or more efficient. Of course, you could ASK, but you couldn't get it!
