We spent close to a week eating in New Orleans in October 2013 with a group of ten, and this was the worst meal of our visit. It wasn't bad---just mediocre and disappointing.

This restaurant is tired, and seems to be coasting on its reputation. Food was average at best. The service was well-intentioned but sloppy. One of our appetizers was incorrect, and it took 10-15 minutes to bring out the right dish, at which point the rest of the party was finished. From there, it was one small glitch after another. I had the feeling that there was not enough staff to provide the level of service to which they were aspiring.

I had heard a great deal about Susan Spicer, and chose Bayona on that basis. She needs to be paying more attention to this place.

I have been here two times with my wife. Once there was a line outside of the restaurant, and we had to wait for about half an hour. So if you decide to go to this restaurant, be prepared for probable waiting queue. We tried different foods, but the pasta with shrimp was the best. The shrimps hasn't cooked well, but it was ok. The restaurant view is so nice, and everything was just perfect. I will recommend this to all of my friends. Just try it!

The restaurant was recommended by their Sous chef. Well thought out menu. French influenced with a nod to eclectic world influences. The menu offers a regular offering that seldom changes paired with specials that change often. Excellent flavors that do not disappoint.

My husband loves this restaurant and he thinks Susan Spicer a fabulous chef. For some reason last night wasn't the greatest. We began with one of her signature dishes the grilled shrimp with black bean cake and creme fresh. It was very good. We then ordered the pork chop that was supposed to come with sweet cornbread and some vegetables. After what seemed like forever -perhaps only 30-40 minutes the entree was served. The vegetables were blackeyed peas and spinach. The only thing we could surmise with the wait staff disappearing was that they must have run out of the menu version. If they would have just communicated that, it would have been OK. However that's not what happened and we both were disappointed. Having been to Emeril's and August the previous nights, this night did not rank highly. Next time we visit New Orleans we'll try one more time.

Thoroughly enjoyed this place. Wonderful menu and great wine list. Great getaway with my wife for a short break from a very hectic schedule. The wait staff as wellas the greeting staff were so accomodating and so profesional. Loved everyting about it! Well almost, the pinot noir by the glass was so so. But they took it back no questions asked.
