“Delicious food, lovely atmosphere, impeccable service...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2013

We enjoyed our dinner fully! It was some of the best food I've ever eaten! The bread, the on the appetizers my Drum fish dinner was perfect, my husband loved his steak and
the dessert was amazing! We had their award winning Banana Pudding, which to me was nothing like it sounds and was one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life!
The service was impeccable and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed a delicious and romantic dinner.

“Extremely tasty”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 12, 2013

The first of John Besh's restaurants and still excellent. The atmosphere is subdued and upscale. Service is phenomenal. We were there for lunch. I took advantage of the prix fixe menu ($20.15, a bargain for the food) but my husband ordered off the regular menu (and cost almost three times as much). They also brought out an egg dish that had cauliflower in it and was served in an eggshell. Wow. Amazing. And they offered a chocolate and praline at the end--fantastic. Everything we got had many layers of flavor that were just wonderful. My husband particularly enjoyed the banana pudding (which had recently won an award according to the waiter). I had a sheepshead poele with parsnip custard, pearl barley and brown butter as well as a salad and strawberry consomme. He also had trout and shrimp bisque. It was all good and we were stuffed at the end. A taste experience.

“Stylishly Delicious”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 10, 2013

This is my third visit to August. I love the food, the elegant ambiance, and the warm personable service. Can't tell you how jealous my teenage daughter was as i texted her each course...her favorite restaurant in New Orleans (Cafe Du Monde doesn't count). Started with foie gras au torchon and a glass of champagne....wonderful way to start lunch. homemade gnocchi with blue crab and black truffle was flavorful and light..then crawfish tagliolini to finish. wonderful. two desserts...i know, i know....goats milk cheesecake and napoleon of nougatine.....both to die for.
eat here every visit to new orleans and will do so again...

“Becoming a Favorite”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 10, 2013

Our first visit, a year ago, was our favorite meal of the trip to New Orleans. We returned this weekend and enjoyed another fine dining experience. Again, it was our favorite of the trip, though all were quite good. The unusual cauliflower fluff served in an egg shell with a layer of oatmeal (trust me on this) was delightful, pâté delicious, as was the salad, and the fish wonderful. Pressed coffee and dessert were more than we needed, but after all, this is New Orleans and one must try everything! The wine list offers a wide range of wine and prices. A Macon burgundy at $65 was a nice compliment to the meal and, as restaurant prices go, not unreasonable. We look forward to our next trip.

“Awesome experience!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 9, 2013 via mobile

Yes, it's pricey, but you will have a stunning culinary experience from one of the most innovative chefs in the Big Easy.
For our special occasion dinner we went wild with the chef's special tasting and had a memorable evening.
