“Good lunch.”
Reviewed July 21, 2013

Eggplant soup was great and light fare. Rillette was quite tasty too! Hangar steak was good, though the chimmichurri overpowered the good flavor, so I was sad for the poor hangar steak.
Fries were ok, the accompanied aioli was good. Be careful if you are sensitive to salt, as there's a strong lean to the salty side, as the chutneys and pickles seem to be a theme here.
Sazarac was ok, and although priced accordingly, looked so wimpy in a glass so out-sized for the pour. The Trios red wine (blend) was very good value.
Service nice and as expected while in NOLA.
My estimate of the atmosphere: 'white collar hip'.

“Herbsaint hits the spot”
Reviewed July 21, 2013

I had not been to Herbsaint in years but we did go last night and we had an amazing food experience. Started off with a refreshing Pimm's cup- they make theirs with a hint of chartreuse(myfav)!. We got ribs and a special for appetizers and the sockeye salmon for dinner.
The ribs are literally melt in your mouth delicious. The special appetizer was a fancy potato skin filled with fish -yummy. But my favorite was the salmon-cooked to perfection with a eggplant puree. The combination really worked and we paired it all with a Spanish Pinot. What makes restaurants stand apart with this level of food is their service and Herbsaint's service is impeccable. Our waiter was knowledgeable and attentive to every little detail without being overbearing, They also have sidewalk seating perfect for brunch or cooler evening. This is my new local favorite and best Donald Link restaurant.

“Really really good food”
Reviewed July 10, 2013

It was great to get out of the French Quarter and this place was our second favorite restaurant this trip (to Boucherie). Cocktails were creative and delicious and the meal was fantastic all around. Can't go wrong at this Donald LInk stunner.

“Enjoyable Meal”
Reviewed July 3, 2013

We kind of stumbled on this place, it's more in the business district than the French Quarter, but we really enjoyed it. It is an easy walk from the French Quarter hotels. They have a good wine list and a traditional menu. We enjoyed the ceviche and a raw tuna "small plate." The service is good and the bar is a good place to have a glass of wine and a small plate if you are stuffed from all those heavy meals that are served in NOLA.

“Herbsaint Should Be Canonized!”
Reviewed June 18, 2013

This is a fabulous bistro in the Central Business District of New Orleans, on the famous St. Charles Street. It's cuisine is kind of a farm-to-table meets French meets Italian meets Creole. The menu is creative and eclectic. The atmosphere is casual and the dining room is airy and light, as it's surrounded by windows. Chicken-Andouille Gumbo was top notch -- super tender chicken in a peppery broth. Fries with pimento aioli were unbelievable -- crisp frites served with a spicy cheesy mayonnaise. Top Notch. Other highlights include the flatbreads, which are crisp and flavorful and my wife loved the house made spaghetti with cream sauce with a fried egg on top. Highly recommended. Service was friendly and professional. The staff emphasized team work, meaning that any one server on the floor may be helping you at any one time, so that your table's well taken care of.
