Description: NOLA is chef/restaurateur Emeril Lagasse’s casual eatery in the heart of New Orleans’ French Quarter. Open since 1992, the critically-acclaimed restaurant fuses traditional Creole, Acadian and Southern cuisine with global influences. Chef de Cuisine Philip Buccieri works closely with Chef Emeril to create an innovative menu showcasing rustic Louisiana cooking with local ingredients and some ethnic twists. The three-story restaurant features an open-action kitchen, chef’s food bar and a signature wood-fired brick oven. NOLA was renovated in 2017 and is now open daily at 11:30 am serving one menu for lunch and dinner.

Emeril is serious about quality in all his restaurants. We have never been disappointed when we dine at one of them. NOLA is no exception. the atmosphere is inviting, romantic and very elegant. From the moment we stepped in we were made to feel special. The service is impeccable and the food delicious. It is expensive, but lives up to the quality and price. Definitely a must do when visiting Nawlins. We will go again!

Loved the veggies and the main course was very good, but not as good as the vegetables. The available beers were outstanding.

First, our main waiter was Nate. He was good. If your table is not on the first floor, the room temperature will be cold.

We had pork cheek boudin balls as an appetizer. This was good and appropriately sized. I wish it would have been cooked a few seconds longer.

We had the gumbo as the soup. It was really good in a large bowl.

We had the buttermilk friend chicken and pan roasted salmon as our entrees. Both were really good. I wish there was more couscous for the salmon. We also had a side of bourbon mashed sweet potatoes which I couldn't get enough of.

Finally, we had key lime pie and creme brulee trio. The key lime pie was one of the best I've have had in a long time. It was very tarty. I do not like coconut but the wife said it was great. However, I took Nate's advise and ate the mocho brulee last. I didn't need coffee afterwards.

Overall the food and service was great.

Parking sucks! There is nothing good about finding parking in the French Quarter on the weekend.

We had a group dinner last Saturday evening for 20 people. The cheese plate was even amazing. My filet came out medium when I asked for Medium rare. They apologized, brought it back and it was amazing. Best place we ate while in New Orleans.

The lunch menu is somewhat limited but has at least one or two fish, meat, chicken dishes to choose from; as well as limited appetizers. A long listing of specialty drinks, a only three different deserts.
1.The various staff were professional, respectful and polite.
2.The atmosphere was a nice open space with plenty of space between tables which is not the norm for most French Quarter eateries. The room temp was excellent with plenty of good circulation. The decor was not memorable but do feel like it made the meal more enjoyable because of space.
3. Drink/cocktail was good but seriously overpriced.
4. Appetizer was a crab cake that could have been much better, it was surprisingly small, overcooked and very very salty. But the crabmeat was good quality and nicely displayed
5. Waited over 20 mins between appetizer and being served entree. About the time we made the decision to just leave, the entree finally came with no explanation or apology.
6. The entree was very tasty but extremely small and because it took so long to get, the satisfaction level was low. The price of the entree seemed to be twice what it should have been.
7. Even though there was an over a twenty minute wait for entree, and there were only four other tables occupied in the entire resteraunt, the waiter, nor the manager offered any effort to express their concern or repeat business. Nothing verbally or any gesture of a complimentary drink or desert or discount was ever offered when the check came.
8. Expectations were high because it is an Emeril establishment but will not be going back. There are just too many more enjoyable places to eat in New Orleans.
