Description: NOLA is chef/restaurateur Emeril Lagasse’s casual eatery in the heart of New Orleans’ French Quarter. Open since 1992, the critically-acclaimed restaurant fuses traditional Creole, Acadian and Southern cuisine with global influences. Chef de Cuisine Philip Buccieri works closely with Chef Emeril to create an innovative menu showcasing rustic Louisiana cooking with local ingredients and some ethnic twists. The three-story restaurant features an open-action kitchen, chef’s food bar and a signature wood-fired brick oven. NOLA was renovated in 2017 and is now open daily at 11:30 am serving one menu for lunch and dinner.

We had essentially one day and one night in New Orleans with our daughter and son-in-law. First (maybe only) trip for three of us. Quick, top-of-the-list sights, restaurants, etc. We were already planning a fancy dinner, and I did not want to go someplace "expensive" for lunch. Well. My daughter adores Emeril--thinks (based on some TV thing) he is an exceptionally good person, and so...we went. Nola turned out to be a wonderful, and actually inexpensive, choice. More than that, the food was delicious and the service was truly exceptional. Our waiter was especially knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. If I had it to do over, I would plan our only dinner at Nola.

We enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Nola on the busy holiday week-end. The two dining rooms upstairs, and down are well lite from the high windows facing the street. The wait staff was dressed in clean and crisp aprons, all wearing ties and a smile. We ordered a glass of wine while taking time to decide what we would have for lunch. We were never rushed but always attended to.
Since the portions were large we started by sharing a BLT salad, layers of friend tomatoes topped with crisp bacon and dressed greens. Large crisp croutons on the side. The mussels my husband had were topped with a mound of shoestring potatoes. I had a bowl of gumbo, delicious with every bite.
We passed on desserts but they all looked grand as the tables around us passed their plates around.
We enjoyed every bite and the price was very reasonable.

Its not worth the high price tag. Mostly because in New Orleans there's plenty of amazing restaurants at a fraction of the cost of Nola. Also the waitress just stood next to our table waiting for us to finish so she could hand us the bill.

This was our first meal upon arrival to New Orleans. Yummy!!!! The cocktails were probably the best part of the meal. I had the NOLA Lemonade (dangerously good) and my husband had the NOLA Bloody Mary. I was surprised that they menu wasn't completely New Orleans inspired, but it did have a nice mix of Cajun food, American, and seafood. There is something for everyone. The decor was really nice & I liked the open kitchen.

We wanted to try one of Emeril's restaurants on our first trip to New Orleans and picked NOLA as it worked for our schedule and was just down the street from our hotel. Made the reservation through Open Table, and though it was pretty busy we were seated within a few minutes of our arrival. We were on the second floor, and our table for two was fine although it seemed a bit crammed in very close to another table. As others have said it was very noisy, though we probably prefer the casual atmosphere over someplace overly quiet. We had three servers tending to us at various points, and they were all pretty friendly and attentive. We thought the appetizer, the duck confit and fried egg pizza, was very good (we're not foodies, so it's not something we would normally have). For dinner we had the pan roasted salmon and buttermilk fried chicken. While they were good, they weren't great. None of the 'wow' factor you might expect for this type of restaurant (and the price). The crème brulee trio for dessert was good, but again not great. Overall it was good and we were glad we went for the experience, but we probably wouldn't be in a rush to go back if we are in New Orleans again.
