Description: NOLA is chef/restaurateur Emeril Lagasse's casual and funky eatery in the heart of New Orleans' French Quarter. Open since 1992, the critically-acclaimed restaurant fuses traditional Creole, Acadian and Southern cuisine with global influences. Chef de cuisine Brian Mottola works closely with Chef Emeril to create an innovative menu showcasing rustic Louisiana cooking with local ingredients and some ethnic twists. The three-story restaurant features an open-action kitchen, chef's food bar and a signature wood-fired brick oven. NOLA serves dinner nightly and lunch Thursday through Monday.

I agree with most of the recent reveiwers; from the time you walk into the restaurant, you are assured of having a great meal! I tried the "Buttermilk Fried Chicken" which was an amazingly tender, juicy and yet a crispy crusted, chicken breast that I will be trying and trying to recreate.
The salads were fresh and crisp- I had the Iceberg Wedge Salad, and it was none like I have ever had before! TRY IT. My husband loved the New Orleans style crabcakes (rated a 9 out of 10) that was served over a spicy relish, and the Pan Roasted Farm Rib Eye which he found absolutely delish.

“Incredible food & staff”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

The moment my husband & I walked in we were greeted by an outgoing & friendly host. He was funny & entertaining and sat us quickly. The attention to detail by the staff and management was amazing! The food was above and beyond expectations & can be compared to no other restaurant! This was truly the best dining experience ever! I highly recommend NOLA as you will have the best dining experience of your life!

Great food served by an amazing staff. Would highly recommend. The place is a bit loud which can turn some off, however i found it part of the charm.

“Surpasses the hype!”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

Honestly, I thought that the hype of Nola being one of Emeril's restaurants might overshadow the food and service - glad I was proven wrong. Nola came recommended by a friend, so I made a reservation through Open Table and our party was seated almost immediately with no hassle. The atmosphere is great - loud and lively with 3 floors for dining with a central glass elevator for transport. The service was top notch and team-oriented. We never had to wait long for plates to be cleared and water to be refilled. Try the stuffed chicken wing appetizer, the flavor and texture combinations are amazing. Everything we tried (including the complimentary jalepeno cornbread and butter) was delicious and well presented. Portions are generous and everything is served hot and fresh. Also try the mashed sweet potatoes along with a saltier/savory dish (like the fried chicken) - the flavors complement each other perfectly. We will definitely return to Nola the next time we are in New Orleans!

“Noisy, good food, ok service”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

We were there between Super Bowl and Mardi Gras and perhaps service is better other times... Would not seat us till whole party was there though our table for nine was ready... Annoying as we had disabled party with us and no place to sit and wait... (rest of party was directly behind us in another cab)... Not good way to start eveing. Food was ok though spicy when we had specifically asked whether that was the case ( hard to find anything without hot spices in New Orleans ) The replacement (from a fellow diner who traded with us) was excellent - fish perfecty cooked which was a nice change from Commander's Palace where fish was mushy. Not quite up to our last trip here several years ago.Very hard to converse as the noise level upstairs was LOUD.
