We ate here on a Friday night during the recent Jazz festival. We didn't have a reservation but they were able to find a table for the two of us. We started by sharing an appetiser of what was basically a fancy shrimp cocktail. Very nice but not exceptional. For our main course, Mrs G opted for the special of the day (stuffed and fried soft shelled crab) while I had the fish of the day (swordfish). Both of our meals were excellent. The sauce that went with my fish was superb; very light with a subtle flavour that didn't overpower the fish. We skipped dessert as we felt just right at the end. The atmosphere and ambience in the restaurant was very good. The service was excellent - quick and attentive without being overbearing. Our meal (a la carte, including pre-dinner cocktails and a bottle of wine with the meal) came to $132 excluding a tip.

We went during the French Quarter Festival and it was very busy during the 2pm lunch. The food overall was very nice and the establishment offered a very nice ambiance, however it was difficult to have a conversation as the busy crowd made for a noisy environment. Our server was attentive however might have been new as she was not able to readily tell us ingredients in one of the meals ordered but was quick to get the details from the kitchen.

I think that their price-point for the meal we had was a little high in comparison to some of the other restaurants that we went to.

We came in here out of the pouring rain and were surprised at how nice it was. We were pretty casual and wet. The back server was great! kept bring the fresh brewed coffee, water and diet soda. My wife had the Turtle soup which yes has real turtle (farm raised for you concerned). It was amazing. The she and another friend split a steak (tenderloin I might add) salad. The dressing was to die for homemade with real olive oil and champagne vinegar. I had their signature dish which was craw-fish crepes. The sauce over the crepes was also so great. We live next to the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, and our daughter was the sommelier for one of the 5 star (yes real five star) restaurants there, so its fair for me to say that the food prepared at Muriel's was so very, very, darn yummy good!

While in NOLA had dinner with 2 business associates at Muriel's and we all had a great experience from beginning to end. The place itself has historical style and cachet and the service was excellent during the entire evening. For appetizer I would recommend the crawfish/goat cheese crepes and for entrée the trio of tournedos! Better food, service and atmosphere than NOLA restaurant for the money!

We were at the N.O. Jazz Fest all day so hungry and cold so walked into Muriel's without a reservation and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Gave us a nice table for two, we ordered a bottle of wine and had Table D'Hote Menu - 3 Course for $37.95. I ordered the crab cake starter, seafood etoufee, pecan bread & butter pudding for desert was to die for. Food was exquisite, my friend ordered gumbo soup, BBQ shrimp with heads off, same desert and hers also excellent. Definitely a winner!
