Had a wonderful dessert and coffee. I had the Muriel's coffee, atouch of praline liquor with homemade vanilla bean gelato. Very yummy.

I probably had higher expectations than what I got at least this night. I don't think that the retaurant was in any respect a bad one but I had expected more genuine atmosphere and real Cajun food.

A good restaurant has ambiance, service and most importantly good food. Check, check and check for Muriels. The ambiance is old world New Orleans that even has a séance room upstairs for visiting. The staff is attentive without being over bearing. The food is inventive and delicious. This is the benchmark to rate all other restaurants against.

We had an outstanding meal at Muriel's. The Table d'Hote special is a great value - 3 courses for $37.50. I had a creamy gorgonzola and prosciutto tart for a starter, pecan-crusted puppy drum with pecan and crawfish relish for an entree, and vanilla bean creme brulee for dessert. The drum was amazing - soooo fresh and cooked perfectly. The restaurant is broken up into several rooms to provide a more intimate experience, and our server was very attentive - even taking a picture of us before we left. Loved it!

Two of us had the bouillabaisse. The fish in it was wonderful, but it had WAY TOO MUCH tarragon. Where was the saffron?? My husband had the drum fish and it was excellent. I am giving it a 4 star for that reason and also because of the good atmosphere and good service. I would NEVER get that dish again there and have had it many times before at other places. I would go back again and order something different.
