“Delicious Jazz Brunch with great service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 13, 2013

My family and I had brunch on Sunday morning at Commander's Palace and it was wonderful. First, the service from Robert, Erich and others was amazing. They were funny and always prompt with refills, checking on us, catering to the kids' special food requests, etc. Next, the "jazz" part of the "jazz brunch"--the band. A talented trio of jazz musicians working the room, taking requests, and making jokes. It was a nice touch and really added to the atmosphere. Of course, the food! It was delicious and interesting--not ordinary fare that you could get any where--each dish that we had was uniquely Commander's Palace. My Pain Perdue appetizer was fantastic. The only disappointing note was my wife's bread pudding souffle. She was expecting something more and a little special but it turned out to be rather so-so. Not enough to dampen our enthusiasm for Commander's Palace by any means. A great place for special occasions. Be sure to dress up! And take a stroll around the beautiful Garden District neighborhood before or after--Sandra Bullock is a neighbor!

“NOLA Must”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 13, 2013

This remains my favorite restaurant and dining experience s in NOLA and in my top 3 meals ever enjoyed. The atmosphere, customer service, food, and dining experience is exceptional. I hope to one day make it for the prix fixe menu and $.25 martinis offered during the week. Book your reservations in advance! If weather permits, walk off your calories while touring the beautiful Garden District.

“A NOLA treasure”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 12, 2013

One of the top restaurants ever. I have had the opportunity to eat here several times over the past 20+ years and have always been delighted. The service and food are impeccable. I would have given 5 stars except for the atmosphere. It is VERY noisy.

“Unparalleled”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 12, 2013 via mobile

Native New Yorker here, have travelled all over Italy and the U.S., and I say without exaggeration that this was the single best meal I have had in my 54 years on this earth. GO. NOW.

“NOLA Experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 12, 2013

This place is a lot of fun - It makes you feel like you are in the Old South at a nice restaurant. Gentlemen must wear collared shirts. No shorts or flip flops. The decor is fancy and very Southern. The food is adventurous and very tasty. Be prepared to pay a little more than average, but it is worth the experience - especially if you go on a weekday and get a couple of their 25 cent martinis! The neighborhood is also beautiful (Garden District), so it is nice to take a walk around the cemetery and look at the beautiful old mansions after your meal. Ride the trolley in from French Quarter to get the full experience.
