“Best of New Orleans”
Reviewed October 29, 2012

The wife and daughters birthday provided a good reason to dress up and enjoy a fine meal. Always first class. Commanders Palace is always great. The food explodes with flavor. The service is beyond expectations. The waiter inquires about your dessert choice early on because they are baking it fresh! The quail, the oysters, the gumbo, the shrimp! Delicious. Every visitor should try to have a meal here. And locals already know, so make your reservation early. Dress is business casual, but coats are recommended. Enjoy!

“Everything you would expect from a legendary restaurant!”
Reviewed October 28, 2012 via mobile

I had heard of Commander's Palace forever but never had the opportunity to dine there until recently. It was a memorable experience and I loved every minute of it.

The food was superb and you are surrounded by a beautiful elegant setting with people who treat you like rpyalty.

It is not an inexpensive place to dine but worth it for the experience that will stay with you as one of your best memories in fine dining.

“Never disappoints”
Reviewed October 28, 2012 via mobile

My husband and I dine at Commanders every time we are in Nola, twice a year on average.

We went last Tuesday for our anniversary and let them know we were interested in the Chef's playground menu when we made the reservation.

As always, we were greeted warmly. They seated us in the upstairs garden room right next to the window overlooking the courtyard. Our servers were extremely attentive and we were treated so well it seemed that the extra course added into the menu had been prepared just for us.

I highly suggest chef Tory's tasting menu, it did not disappoint. The five hour egg was outstanding. The intermezzo cocktail perfectly refreshing. The entree of antelope was a pleasant surprise. They even gave us a personalized copy of the menu as a remembrance of the dinner.

Commanders is top notch fine dining and doesn't skip a beat.

“The waiter screwed us!”
Reviewed October 28, 2012

Loved the food but that was the only part. We finished our dinner but as soon as we paid and left things went bad. The person who tripple counted our bill and tip in cash $590, had just got into a cab when the waiter rushed out and asked us if we intended to only pay the exact amount of our bill. I recounted the total and now it was the exact amount of the bill. I thought someone must have grabbed some cash out of the bill. I realize now that it could only have been the waiter who took the money out because anyone else who would have left that exact amount would have been noticed. I know that waiter, who knew I wasn't the person who added up the cash and was not local, stole the tip and scammed me out of another $90. Word to the wise. The food is great but don't use cash!!!!!!!

“Crowded but great food”
Reviewed October 28, 2012

Need to make a reservation well in advance, but the brunch was delicious. The Jazz band roams around the rooms, and everyone gets up to join the dance-parade. Fun and delicious. Expensive but worth it.
