My husband and I ate dinner at GW Fins and chose it based on their extensive menu and fresh fish selections. We enjoyed every bit of our meal--from the Apple and Endive salad to the fresh biscuits, beautiful seafood entrees and Bread Pudding and Chocolate Mousse Bombe for dessert. The American Red Snapper entree was fabulous--I've never enjoyed fried okra as much as I did when it came crispy fried as a garnish for the dish. Delicious! GW Fins has a great selection of cocktails and wines to go with everything on their menu. The dining room is beautiful and service was great. You can't go wrong eating here as a couple, with friends or with a group.

A wonderful dinning experience! It's hard to say whether the food or service was better, tut they were both top notch. I hope you are lucky enough to get Kirkland as your waiter, because he is wonderful. It had to be one of the best offerings of swordfish I have ever had and my wife loved her red fish. But the star of the night was the "muffin man"! It's hard not to fill up on the rolls... they are so good, especially when warm!

It is obvious by the continual crowds, this is a favorite. I concur. We sat in the rear room which was quieter and the service was just as attentive. All items were accurately described, except the "lobster dumplings" which only saw lobster in the butter sauce. It is primarily a fish menu, but the choices included several unknown to most of us....and we were adventurous, and pleased with our choices. Overall, I would highly recommend a visit...but reservations are a must.

We spent a week in NOLA and liked the GW Fins so much that we went there 3 times for dinner. Elegant place with a great service and food. We loved #1 yellow fin tuna, scalibut, and swordfish. Appetizers were very nice too: tuna tartare, ceviche, and our favorite... apple & endive salad! Good selection of wines. The pana cotta dessert was more like a flan.
Plan to reserve early or just get lucky!

We went soon after they opened on a Monday night so we could get a table before the reservations came into play. This is definitely and upscale restaurant with delicious seafood, so I recommend you make reservations if you like to dine later. We both ate the Scalibut, a GF Fins' creation made from a halibut filet grilled with slices of sea scallops on top and accompanied by Royal Red shrimp risotto and snow peas. It was fantastic - one of the best seafood dishes we have ever eaten! We were pleased that the wine list included a Mosel Riesling which was a perfect match for the Scalibut. Crème Brûlée with coffee completed a perfect dinner. We would definitely eat here again!
