Steps from Bourbon st. Delicious scallops, risotto, and chocolate mousse. Definitely recommend. My colleague had the salmon and it was also delicious. Just make sure you are dressed accordingly and make reservations if you can.

This is the second time we've visited GW Fins and it did not disappoint. We were there to celebrate our son's birthday and our table for 12 was set up beautifully and the food was just as I had remembered it- Amazing! I had the lobster bisque, the lobster dumplings and the scalibut and all were beyond delicious. Our guests had everything from the seafood to the chicken to the pork chops and everyone enjoyed their food. Although our waiter was very polite, service was slightly slower this time around, but regardless, we enjoyed our meal. Can't wait to return again next year!

Excellent fare. Superb service. The establishment is well-laid out and the prices are reasonable for such an upscale restaurant. We enjoyed our time there, weren’t hassled by the wait staff, which by the way, anticipated our every need! This is definitely a “keeper”. We are looking forward to some more fantastic dining next time we’re in town!

Our dinner at GW Fins was the high point of our trip to New Orleans. We liked everything about it! First the restaurant is located close to Bourbon street which makes getting there colorful. The interior of the restaurant itself looks very much like the interior of other restaurants in that category but looks relatively small (see photos). We discovered there are some satellite dining rooms which make the dining experience more peaceful and pleasant. The service is perfect! The lobster bisque (a special) was excellent. The seared tuna was also a resounding success. Several of us had the “scalibut” which is halibut with sea scallops – hard to describe, see photo. This is a specialty and is definitely worth trying. The Stags Leap Merlot was a bit disappointing but drinkable. Overall a very peasant experience. Not a cheap place though.

In a city blessed with an embarrassment of riches in dining, GW Fins stands out. I chose it for my 25th Anniversary dinner. From the moment that we entered and were greeted by name and wished Happy Anniversary, the experience was outstanding. Have the soft shell, the scalibut, everything is superb, even the biscuits. Also, the waitstaff are both professional and warm. I wish I could remember their names, thank you for an exceptional evening. Also, thank you to the gentleman at the podium who gave us the best table in the house.
