The food delectable; the service, excellent. We were at Muriel's last night and that was good. This was fabulous! You will not be disappointed. The atmosphere was inviting with great ambiance. Ryan, our waiter was nothing short of spectacular. He explained the menu and shared a story that earlier that day, the chef through out tuna that afternoon that was not to his standard. Explained that that is how particular he is about the freshness of the food. The menu changes daily but the selections today were great. We had the red snapper and the Parmesan crusted drum. Both fish were cooked to a perfect texture and taste. Try the oysters as an appetizer, they were awesome!!

We went to GW Fins on our last evening in NOLA and were not disappointed. The atmosphere was more modern than the other restaurants we went to in the French Quarter. We missed that traditional ambience a bit but the food and wine and service more than made up for it. I had the cold smoked oysters served on hot shells and it was probably the best appetizer I have ever had. For $8 a half dozen the price was very reasonable. Our waiter was knowledgable and made helpful recommendations to steer us in the right direction on pairings. The apple pie with cheddar baked into the crust was sublime. A new menu is created daily to fit what is available from the local fishermen. Half a block from the live sex shows on Bourbon, GW Fins is probably one of the best restaurants in town and shows how the seedy and special elements of NOLA blend together to create a really memorable experience for visitors. We loved it.

Attentive service, very good dinner, excellent desert (bread pudding). Enjoyed the breaded Drum fish, very, very mild tasting. The seafood gumbo was tasty without being overly so. If you like seafood but are not crazy about it, you'll find both dishes to your liking. Now whether or not you like seafood you will find the bread pudding too good to pass up. That and an expresso put a nice finish to a fine meal. Fresh menu done daily.
