“Great local spot”
Reviewed November 5, 2012 via mobile

The food was great. The ambiance was good. The service was great. The waiters/waitresses are friendly, welcoming and pleasant.
Every thing we ate was good. I highly recommend the shrimp & alligator cheesecake.
The decor is very local, not like fancy big chain restaurants.
A must-go in NOLA

“It is uptown and worth the trip.”
Reviewed November 3, 2012 via mobile

The word eclectic comes to mind here but the restaurant should be labeled solely as such.

Traditional New Orleans fare and great country cooking served up well. The staff is efficient and seamless as a team. Atmosphere is great. It is small in size. Large in quality and character.

The dinners are great but don't overlook the appetizers and sides. Only a few dessert choices. The bread pudding was our choice and didn't disappoint.

“You Really Need to Check This Out!”
Reviewed November 1, 2012

What an amazing restaurant. If you're looking for white linen tableclothes and a stuffy atmosphere, then this is not your place. But if your tastes trend more to the casual, but authentic scene, you really need to check this restaurant out.

One small downside if the fact that it is located about 10 minutes outside of the French Quarter by taxi. But in my mind, that is actually an advantage since you get a whole different look and feel. The scene was eclectic but relaxed and the food was off the charts.

Try the Crawfish Étouffée along with a few standards such as Red Beans and Rice. Amazing! My buddy had the Blackened Redfish and a few sides and would also recommend these!

Overall, the service was great, the atmosphere was lively, and the food was traditional and authentic.

“A true gem!”
Reviewed October 22, 2012

One of my favorite New Orleans Restaurants! Eating here is truly a culinary experience. The Fried Green Tomatoes with Shrimp Remoulade is delicious. The Redfish and Fried Chicken are also both winners. True, the wait is usually around 2 hours but you can grab a few drinks and stroll down Oak Street while you wait. They also have good drinks here, which is always a plus in my book.

“Crowded, not clean and ok food”
Reviewed October 22, 2012

The restaurant was crazy crowded. Had to wait for an hour. They don't take reservations for parties less than five. The wait is so long that it is worth it to find 3 extra people to increase the size of your party. Saw several insects (the type that will survive nuclear war) while waiting. The food was really unremarkable. There are much better places in NOLA. The restaurant is obviously coasting off of its former reputation.
