Cafe au lait and beignets in a beautiful city park! A delightful NOLA experience. I only wish it was self-serve like Coffee Call in Baton Rouge, instead of sit-down style. Our server was a lot of fun, but I'd prefer not to have to tip on such a simple breakfast. It was great to people/animal watch. The proximity to the Sculpture Gardens was awesome. After eating beignets, we were able to walk them off while gazing at fantastic sculptures in a pleasant environment.

Maybe it was just hot and we were starving after biking all over the park on the rented duece cruiser, but we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of food. The jambalaya was top notch and the beignet's were delicious and very reasonable. I would eat here again even if I didn't want to spend time at the park.

We have pined away for Morning Call since it abandoned the French Quarter about forty years ago. Now that they are open in the fabulous Casino at the beautiful City Park, we have put away our mourning jewelry and our weeds. It's open 24-hours and is especially fun at 4 am! Next on their agenda is a Phoenix like revival in the French Quarter, upriver a few blocks from the old location! Unquestionably the best doughnuts of their kind in the City! The staff ,is genuinely New Orleans, professional, and on too of it!

First of all, this place is in one of the loveliest parks in the US. The staff were instantly attentive, the food hot, coffee was delicious. The funniest thing happened while we were eating. Men in black jackets started, one by one, congregating in a corner of the restaurant. Eventually there were about 15 of them. All of the sudden they just start singing! It was completely amazing.

While visiting from S. Fl, I really wanted to visit Cafe De Monde to try the world famous however, my cousin who is a locale highly suggested and recommended Morning Call....and oh what a fun time we had and what a cool place. A not to be missed spot if you are visiting New Orleans.
