The atmosphere is sparse but clean and the wait staff were very polite and friendly. The food was a wonderful sampling of Ethiopian food. Unlike other Ethiopian restaurants I have been to, They provide you with fork and spoon and large tables had individual plates.
We had two lamb dishes and one vegetarian platter. The cuts of lamb were clean non fatty and tender. The spices and preperation were delicious. We also had the vegetable platter which is served room temperature. It contained grees, lentils (2 ways), carrots, root vegetable, potatoes, beats. All prepared in different ways. It was a neat way to sample ethipian vegetable dishes.
This restuarant is found on Magazine street close to Jackson. It is a revitalized neighborhood steps from the Garden District and on the other side of the warehouse district of New Orleans. For Tourist who are staying in French Quarter area it may be a little bit of a hike, so if you can't walk take a cab. But if you are already visiting the Lower Garden district it would be a great place to stop in.
