“Contemporary sculpture in outdoor setting”

Well worth visiting, as is the NOMA itself. Try and avoid the middle of the day for the sculpture garden in you're there in summer.

“A celebration of nature and sculpture”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 24, 2013

Make sure you don’t miss the sculpture garden, while visiting New Orleans It's location inside the "City Park", next to the Art Museum.
It is quite a big one, spread around the lake and has two nice bridges.
My favorite was George Rodrigue's yellow and blue, a dog sculpture named: "We stand together". 2nd favorite: Paul Manship's "Tortoise".
Take a few minutes to sit and relax in this small paradize.

“A garden of whimsy and art”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2013

We were out at City Park on Monday and the museum was closed as was the Botanical garden but the sculpture garden was open. In a nice park like setting there was a large collection of pieces. At the entry was a Henry Moore sculpture. There were mobiles and a cat sculpture among others. It is a pleasant 20 minute walk or a place to sit quietly.

“Art. Free. Beautiful surroundings. Nuff said.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2013

This is a very nice selection of modern sculptures from all around the world. This is a fairly unmissable part of New Orleans and is far removed from the hustle and bustle of the French quarter.....very nice gallery just next door too.

“Don't miss the gardens!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 20, 2013

The sculpture gardens are free, exceptionally well maintained, and full of inspiring, comical, artful, and just plain confusing sculptures in a beautiful setting. Can't recommend them too highly. It'll take about 2 hours to adequately experience the place. By the way, 4 of us spent 8 days in New Orleans in October, 2013, visiting all the standard sites along with some odd-places. At the end of it all we thought the place most deserving of recommendation to future travelers to New Orleans is the sculpture gardens...although a close second would be Preservation Hall...but that's for another review
