Description: Serving Lunch on Fridays, Dinner nightly and Sunday Jazz Brunch. Restaurant R'evolution is the first joint venture of award-winning Chefs John Folse and Rick Tramonto offering modern, imaginative reinterpretations of classic Cajun and Creole cuisine. Steeped in the diverse historic and cultural influences of Louisiana, the menu features not only the chefs' interpretations of New Orleans classics such as gumbo, po' boys, and beignets, but also new creations highlighting ingredients from what Chef Folse refers to as "the swamp floor pantry." Tableside service components play an important role in the dining experience, promoting guest engagement about the history and evolution of the food they are enjoying.Soups such as Creole Louisiana Snapping Turtle Soup and Death by Gumbo play on unusual presentations of these traditional dishes that date back centuries. Desserts showcase classical New Orleans sweets done in a new and contemporary way.

“One of the best restaurants ever!”
Reviewed July 17, 2013

Food, wine, staff, décor... ALL TOP NOTCH! Food can't get any better -- and I have traveled all over. Wine room is a real treat, and if Chef Folse is in the restaurant, he will make sure he makes the rounds, welcoming everyone. AWESOME guy!!! Down to earth, friendly, smart, interesting, kind.... not at all snobby or uppity like a lot of chefs are who won't give you the time of day and not even close to being "hokey" as you would find with someone like Emeril or Paula Deen! He genuinely cares about his food -- lots of flavors and lots of textures -- and not just about making money. His staff all told us how much they enjoy working with him -- he treats everyone like family! The ONLY thing I wish they would do differently is change the lighting at the dining tables inside the kitchen. The concept is wonderful, so that you can see what's going on, but the lighting is way too bright. One of my favorite restaurants ever!

“This was as good a meal as I have had in New York ,Paris ,London or Rome”
Reviewed July 13, 2013

There are two things I hate in restaurant,1. if it is in a hotel and 2. if it serves breakfast.
This place does both ,but don't be alarmed.
I have eaten dinner here twice and lunch once, the food is amazing, the service is perfect.

We had a party of five in the chefs dining room for a friend who lives in New York. It was a birthday party celebration and he is a restaurant snob and he was impressed!

The décor is amazing. The bar is all dark wood and looks like a gentleman's club from the early 20th century. The dining rooms(and there are many of them) are beautiful, very understated and made to look as though they were built 150 years ago, but the are all new , perfectly proportioned and decorated.

“Very high end experience”
Reviewed July 10, 2013

Sat next to Spike Lee for dinner having sat next to him at breakfast that morning. We were told this restaurant replaced August as the best restaurant in the city. It's not, but it is beautiful, expansive, expensive, and a bit arrogant. The food was cutting edge and for the most part excellent. Death by Gumbo was worth the try, the crispy sweetbreads were very good, and the roasted bone marrow was a treat. It was a terrific experience overall although there are better restaurants in N'awlins.

“Literally the best restaurant I've eaten at in 3 years.”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

So I'm a pretty frequent traveler, foodie, and have gotten to eat some of the world's best restaurants so it is no small feat when I say that R'evolution was one of the best places I've eaten at in the past couple of years. The service, food, wine and whole experience were top notch. The one piece of advice I would give is to make sure you go there on a very empty stomach. There are so many delectable things on the menu that it is going to be difficult to figure out what to get. We had the gumbo, the cured meats, oysters, and special étouffée which were all out of this world and the best I had in New Orleans. It is also a little on the pricey side but totally worth it for the food.

“Very Enjoyable Dinner! Make your reservation now!”
Reviewed July 6, 2013

Every 4th of July week we come from Houston to New Orleans to celebrate our birthdays. This is the one restaurant I had to visit again for dinner. Last year we sat at the bar and ate but this year we had a table. The service was impeccable, although a fancy place it is not stuffy, still has plenty of New Orleans "feel" to it. You have 3 people waiting on your table aside from your actual waiter. When we sat down our table was given an iPad to look over the wine list. You must get the "Pig Out Board" for an appetizer. Easily feeds 2-3 people. We each had PERFECT steaks..mine with foi gras butter - WOW! We wanted to try lots of appetizers so we had the Brussels Sprouts (suggested by waiter and delish), mashed potatoes and fries with sauces. They bring a box with treats if you don't order desert which is a neat touch -- makes you feel at home. Looking forward to visiting again on our next trip! (If you want dimly lit seating don't sit facing the kitchen.) Last year the manager offered to take us on a tour of the kitchen and beautiful wine cellar. Really made us feel welcomed.
