“Absolutely perfect.”

I just want to say that this is, far and away, the best guest house my girlfriend and I have ever stayed in. Even if we hadn't ended up enjoying New Orleans as much as we did, we would come back just to stay here again--which we will as soon as we're able.
In short: our room (suite 3) was spacious, comfortable and impeccably clean; our host (Matt) was wonderfully polite and helpful; the tidy common room was well stocked with food and travel guides, and the garden beautiful and relaxing; and every amenity we could imagine seemed somehow to be taken care of in advance.
The house is also in a GREAT area. It's only about five minutes' walk from the French Quarter if/when you want to go there, but the neighborhood immediately surrounding it (the Marigny) is much less touristy and has a lot of really cool spots to check out. The "action" in New Orleans is notorious, but it gets old quickly; and it was great to have somewhere this pleasant, relaxing and accessible as a home base.
Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. We'll definitely be going back.

We've been to New Orleans many times. Big hotels, small hotels, B & B's.

This is a GREAT VALUE for the $$.

Clean and convenient and safe.

Within walking dastance to riverfront, FQ, restaurants

The other reviews cover it well, so I'll just point out a few things. We stayed three nights.

Matt and Lynn are very nice. You may not see them very much, since breakfast is DIY. You may see the other guests, though, depending on whether you or they hang out in the common room. Our dog was befriended by all the guests, and we were given dog treats upon arrival, which really made us feel welcome in bringing her.

The area right around the house is okay. We always felt safe to walk, but at night we always took the same road to and from the French Quarter or Frenchman St. I wouldn't just wander around and I would take a cab after midnight.

The room pictures I found online don't do the rooms justice (they looked old-fashioned online, but were cozy in person). Our room was really nice and comfortable. The bathroom was good, too. We only took showers, not baths, so I can't say whether the tub was good -- It's not my favorite thing to take a shower in a clawfoot tub.

Overall, though, you can't beat this place for value near the French Quarter.

We have been staying here for years and it's better every time. Matt and Lynn are excellent hosts, friendly and there when you need them, but they also allow you your privacy. The rooms are cozy and comfortable and the garden gets more beautiful every year. The only time we stay elsewhere is when CCGH is booked. The place is extremely fun if you can get friends together and book all four rooms. It's like renting a vacation home with maid service. As long as they'll have us, CCGH is where we'll stay.

A wonderful place. The host, Matt has thought of everything. Even though it rained during our stay there were umbrellas waiting for us at the door. We stayed in one night and borrowed a movie, from an extensive list, Matt brought us a bag of popcorn to enjoy with the movie. When was the last time you received something for nothing. The place is perfectly laid out. A large shared living room with dining/kitchenette area. A well stocked refrigerator with breads, bagels and muffins, fresh fruit, juices and milk. The cupboard was stocked with a selection of cereals. There are four guest sleeping rooms. Each room has a private bath. The backyard is peaceful and relaxing. A plus after running around the French Quarter. The entire place was exceptionally clean. We felt at home and taken care of. We will be back

Decided to stay here for my birthday/new years 2007 based on reviews and amenities. Unfortunately, it didnt work out so well.

First, I got the most popular room #1 with the claw foot bathtub......what wasnt mentioned was that it only had a showerhead, no faucets, and the pressure was so low it wasnt usable as a tub! My girlfriend was all excited about taking a nice long bath, which she loves, but she tried it once and obviously it was a sorry idea.

Secondly, and the other main reason I reserved here, was the hot tub in the backyard. Without mincing words, it wasnt working, nowhere in the 6 emails I exchanged with the owner was this mentioned! The heater was broken, so the water was 62 degrees! What was going to be a great capper to New Years night pissed me off to the point of no return.

Other than that, the owners were nice, the location was ok.....if you dont know the FQ this is NOT a good place to be for that, you are at least 8 blocks from the action.......better off staying on the other side of the FQ.

Also, you arent in a real B&B as the guest rooms are behind the main house, so you never see the other guests or the owners for the most part.......and youre on your own for breakfast, the basics are provided but you have to prepare......

I really with they had been more forthcoming about the situations above.....mainly #1&2, as I would have stayed somewhere else that better met my needs.
