“Absolutely perfect place to stay!”
Reviewed April 21, 2014

We stayed here when I was pregnant with my son. The cottage was impeccable, the bathroom amazing. We loved that we could bring along our little dog, leave the car safely parked, and enjoy the walk to the French Quarter each day. Right before we arrived, I found out I had gestational diabetes, which put a damper on our plans to sample all the amazing food in town, but they were very accommodating to make sure breakfast met my dietary needs and still made me feel like it was a treat. The owner gave us a sweet children's book about Christmas on the Bayou, and I think of our wonderful experience every time I read it to my son.

Room Tip: We stayed in the cottage so that we could bring our small dog.

Thanks for writing! It was great to have you all here. We like it that we can offer the North American Cottage as a pet-friendly accommodation. We also try to meet the dietary needs of our guests with our varied menu, and can always make alterations as needed. Hope to see you soon again at the Five Continents.

My wife and I stayed here for our 6 year anniversary. The breakfast was great and the owner/chef is very nice. He gave us a ride to dinner in the pouring rain one night because taxis won't stop to pick you up. It's really weird. And no taxi company will send people there at night. It's an 8 block walk to comfortably be inside the quarter so prepare to walk and hope for good weather.

Thanks for you stay at the Five Continents and we are glad that you enjoyed our historic house and the hospitality. We are not on a street where you can flag a cab on a regular basis, but cabs respond to a call anytime day or night and usually come very quickly. The one exception is at Mardi Gras when we have several hundreds of thousands of extra people descend on our city, and the wait can be longer. None of the B&Bs along Esplanade have had problems with taxis, except as mentioned. Hope to see you again soon here at the Five Continents.

Just returned from a great time in New Orleans. We had the Eurasia room for our 3 adult children and the North American cottage for my husband and myself.
The only draw back was my husband is disabled and getting in to the main house was a little difficult. The North American cottage was fully accessible and a great place for our family to get together in the evenings and sit on the front porch. It is really hard to find a B&B that is accessible. Peter was very good about making a breakfast tray to take out to my husband but it would have been nice for him to join us in the dining room.
Peter and Walter were great hosts and Azzo the dog was very well trained. Even the 'spirits' in the Eurasia were friendly.

Thanks for writing. It was great to have you. It is nice to have one room that is fully accessible for people with mobility issues. As with many B&Bs in historic properties, accessibility is an issue, even with only a few steps into the main house. When larger families stay here together we often recommend the North American Cottage and the Eurasian Suite together, since they both open to courtyard/garden area, which has several nice areas to gather. Hope to see you soon again in New Orleans at the Five Continents!

Beautiful rooms, gracious hosts, and excellent gourmet breakfast awaits you at this New Orleans B&B. There is a very relaxed atmosphere and the hosts are very friendly and have great suggestions for local restaurants.

Secure courtyard for vehicle parking is a big plus.

Well situated for the French Quarter, Museum of Art, and Interstate access.

Great to have you with us. It is always a treat to have Canadians with us here at the Five Continents. Many of our guests appreciate our off street parking, which enables you to bring a car, even though many attractions are in easy walking distance. Hope to see you again soon.

Had a fantastic stay at the Five Continents Bed and Breakfast. We stayed in the Eurasian suite which had two bedrooms and they were both very spacious and the bathroom was clean and very nice as well. The house is very nice and truly wowed us all the detail and fantastic managing of the property. The location is close to French Quarter and Frenchmen Street which was great for us. We only stayed for one night but if we are ever back in New Orleans we would stay here for sure. Peter the owner is a terrific host and made us a nice breakfast. Very nice dog Akko as well!

We loved this beautiful old home. Really enjoyed walking from this property to the French Quarter. Breakfasts were amazing! Great location! Very clean and very comfortable beds. If you want an authentic New Orleans experience, I'd highly recommend 5 Continents B&B.

Thanks for writing. One of things we love about the house is that so many of the original features of the house have been retained over almost 130 years and several changes in ownership. The eight fireplaces, the plaster work detail, the chandeliers, the fully functioning pocket doors, among other features are all original to the building. So glad you enjoyed your stay here and hope to see you here again soon.

We had a great time in our stay for Mardi Gras at 5 continents. Peter was a great host, he was very hospitable and helped us with anything we needed. The breakfast was very nutritious, delicious and sustainable!!location was great, only 20 minutes from Bourbon street and french quarter. The room was beautiful, and the beds very comfortable. I would not think twice before coming here again and I recommend it to anybody!!

Room Tip: The Eurasian suit is like having two rooms because there are two beds separated by a door. There is...

Thanks for writing. I'm glad you enjoyed your visit here at the Five Continents. New Orleans is one of the few truly walkable cities in the US. There are so many attractions within walking distance, especially the Quarter. With our hearty breakfasts, many guests set out on foot and spend the day on foot, which is great fun.
