I'm a frequent traveler to New Orleans and found this convenient gem on Craig's list. I've stayed at the facility on numerous occaisions and have hosted industry parties in the courtyard areas. The owner is attentive and tries to ensure your comfort. The location is great for strolling into the French Quarter or frequenting the numerous music venues within the neighborhood.

I found this B&B on Craigslist and it was beautiful. There were snacks for us in the unit such as chips, pop corn, sodas, coffee, water, and everything sown to the sugar and spices for cooking. This place was fully stocked with pots, pans, and cookware, it had everything you might need to make a Thanksgiving dinner! It was just a few walking blocks from Bourbon Street and was very comfortable. The host was very pleasant. Beautiful place. Highly recommended.

Rented the pool house and upstairs apartment for a mini-reunion. Slept the group well if you don't need a ton of privacy, alot of the sleeping accomodations are nooks and sleeper sofa's. The upstairs bedroom in the pool house is great. The home is the old guest quarters for a previous govenor and shows its age...........but this is New Orleans. The pool was clean and has a built in table on the shallow end, came in very handy. The location is great as Frenchman street is right there, a more local flavor of entertainment and restaruants. Cable car runs near by or you can walk to the Quarter. Once our feet got tired after a couple of days, we would ride the cable car to the far side of the quarter and make our way home. Usually made it in time for a night cap on Frenchman St. Safe, Old, quaint and perferct for a small group that wants to hang out a bit and perhaps cook their own breakfast. Previous post whinning about the facility probably doesn't travel much and never stays anywhere other than a Hilton. Snob! :-{>

The Casa Conchita in New Orleans is not a place for anyone that wants comfort with their vacation. We were 4 adults that rented the upstairs unit. Our unit at Casa Conchita has 3 kitchen chairs, 2 that are broken. Let's talk privicy, you will have none! The 2 bedrooms have adjoining doors that don't lock well. Both bedrooms are off of the sitting room, to get into the first bedroom you go through swinging doors with no locks. The second bedroom has bed sheets on a rod, bring clips to keep them closed. Casa Conchita raves about the 2 full bathrooms. Both a part of each bedroom. One with a stand up shower, one with a claw foot tub with hand held showerhead, sounds great...not! The tub is great if you are under the age of 5 and a short 5 at that. As I was trying to shower standing up in the tub the handle came off the hose part and there was warter all over the bathroom. When I told the owner about this she was more concern about the water in the bathroom. This happend the first night we were there, when we left it was still broken. We stayed for a hard week. This now means that we have 1 shower for all of us. Most times this would be fine but you needed to see this shower. Again you must be short because the shower head is at my shoulders, I'm 5 foot 4. The Casa Conchita has a broken coffee table in the sitting room and the part that is missing has staples hanging out waiting for it's next victim. We lived with huge cockroaches through out the unit. The phone is hanging off the wall, the microwave has a long crack on the door the 1 TV in the place is in the sitting room. It's so small that it's a joke. You really won't spend much time relaxing in front of it any way unless you can lip read. The main AC is in the room with the TV and it's so loud that you need to turn it off to hear the show you might be trying to watch. You then risk waking anyone up that might be sleeping because of the lack of doors. Now as I said at the start of this we were upstairs. We had to climb 5 steps outside to get to the main door. The steps outside are all different widths and sizes. The inside again has 13 steps of different heights and the pitch is so dangerous that I fell down them twice. I again told the owner and she could care less. For $200.00 a day you would think that you would get toilet paper... no, so make sure that you bring your own. The gardens in the court yard are very nice but they don't give much shade when you're out there having a smoke. The unit we were in is smoke free yet the renters in the other units were inside smoking away. Save your money cause you can buy a whole lot of toilet paper for $ 200.00 a day.

This was my first trip ever to New Orleans and this location could not have been better. I found it very safe. I was pleasantly surprised how large it was and so very beautiful. Away from all the noise and very quiet, clean and so very comfortable. Felt like home. Very short walk to the French Quarter and local transportation. Connie the Innkeeper was fantastic. Very attentive to every detail. The unit was exquisite. Would highly recommend.
