Casa Conchita is the perfect location to enjoy New Orleans life - located in "one of the best neighborhoods in the US" (http://www.faubourgmarigny.org/awards_apa.htm ).
We were only a few minutes from the restaurants and bars on Frenchman Street, easy walking distance to all the amenities in the French Quarter and just across the street from beautiful, historic Washington Square Park.
The apartments are charming and comfortable with high ceilings, lovely decor and comfortable beds.
We have stayed 4 times in the upstairs apartment, entertaining as many as 10 people in the spacious dining/kitchen area which overlooks a lush, colorful courtyard with a beautiful fountain.
To top it off, Connie Walker's knowledge of New Orleans along with her gracious friendliness make this the place my family will return to again and again.

First of all, the location cannot be beat. Around the corner from all the music on Frenchmen St. and close enough to the Quarter to walk (but still far enough away to not have to deal with the touristy commotion).
Connie's place was perfect for the large group that came down for Memorial Day weekend. We rented out both the top and bottom unit. Both units were spacious, clean, and comfortable - with all of the necessary amenities and appliances we needed to make ourselves at home. That allowed us to cook a meal or two at the house and have afternoon (and morning) cocktails in the courtyard. The courtyard in itself sells the place. It is large, quiet, and has beautiful afternoon sunshine that filters through the trees.
Connie met us there when we came in, was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the city and the neighborhood. Always ready with a brunch, dinner, or cocktail place suggestion.
I have already referred a coworker to Casa Conchita. It is a beautiful place and the perfect spot to experience both sides of old New Orleans.

Room Tip: talk to Connie - the owner/manager/concierge

I traveled to New Orleans for a week stay over New Years 2010-2011 with four of my good friends, and this was the perfect place for us. It was great being within just a short walk of the French Market, as well as all of the bars, restaurants, and other attractions. Connie and her husband were more than welcoming, and the apartment was beautiful. Everything we needed for a weeks stay was available to us, and the linens and beds were extrememly comfortable. For a nice, comfortable stay close to all that the French Quarter has to offer, I would definitely recommend Casa Conchita, and hope to stay again in the future.

I have stayed at Casa Conchita four times, each time in the second floor, two-bedroom/two-bath unit. The bedrooms are well-appointed (one king, one queen). The queen bedroom has a bathroom with shower stall; the king bedroom has a beautiful tub with hand shower. Linens and towels are top-notch. The kitchen is spacious, with gas burners and plenty of knives and pots. There aren't as many plates, however--if you're cooking for a big group, get paper plates. Full-size fridge. All in all, a very comfortable stay, with easy, free on-street parking (north side of Dauphine, or across Elysian, or around the corners) and close to d.b.a., the Spotted Cat, and the rest of Frenchmen Street.

Yet the best part of staying at Casa Conchita is Connie Walker, the owner and manager. She lives across the small courtyard and is very responsive and savvy. She knows the city very well and can provide excellent recommendations.

[Slight] Negatives--no dedicated wi-fi, though you can usually hit a network nearby. The usual bits about staying in an older building--window unit A/C (but puts out plenty of air), very occasional power issues due to overloads (but Connie is VERY responsive if there are any issues).

This is our second stay at Casa Conchita and we love it here. The first time we stayed in the second floor unit, which has lots of character and a long full kitchen that has windows opening out into the courtyard so you can hear the fountain at night.

This time we're staying in the lower unit and it is beyond elegant. This is the sort of place that you just want to move in to and never leave. Wood flooring, high ceilings, elegant leather furniture, dining table, full kitchen with tile floor, two bedrooms with comfortable beds, each with a fireplace, deep closets and 1 nicely furnished bathroom

Air conditioning units and ceiling fans in each room keep the place pleasantly cool in the summer heat. The kitchen has spices and dishes galore, two types of coffee for the morning, lots of towels and hairdryer in the bathroom and there is a wide variety of books to be read in the cozy courtyard.

Internet access is also provided (else you wouldn't be getting this review!)

My only complaint might be that the bathroom has a standing shower - no tub - and that if you bump the shower handle it can go from warm to scalding hot in seconds. Otherwise this place is just about perfect!

Our hosts are wonderful, offering hospitality if desired but staying in the background if not.

Highly recommend and will be back!
