Got to the hostel and was given bedding and taken on the full tour. There was a tv area, huge kitchen, swimming pool, courtyard area and a laundry room.
My room was HUGE!! I had a double bed, with a single bunk on top and my own bathroom. The room was freezing! I went to make my bed and the blanket was dirty :( Got another blanket which was clean.
Went to the TV area and socialised, there were loads of people staying there, which was really great.
Booked a couple of tours from the hostel - the Bayou tour and the plantation tour (with free pick-up)
The hostel was a 30 second walk from the tram stop which took you straight to the entrance of Bourbon Street for only $1.25 (correct money only)
Overall, despite not being the cleanest hostel, it was friendly and had a great atmosphere. Be warned that if it's busy, there'll be a lot of people getting back drunk in the early hours.More
