I have stayed at many hotels in New Orleans-W, Sheraton, Hyatt French Quarter, Hiltons Riverside and St. Charles, Loew's and Roosevelt right before. Think Harrah's is my favorite.

Giant rooms and bathrooms, I mean enormous. Had a lovely city view on 22nd floor, amazing light in the afternoon. Super comfortable King bed. Small fridge in room. Extraordinary service.

Windowed airy gym on 3rd floor was very nice. Small but comfortable lobby. Amazing stay!

My wife and I returned to Harrahs New Orleans becasue 1. we enjoy New Orleans, and 2. we were always treated extrememly well at Harrahs. The casino itself is fine, fairly large, but also very crowded. The hotel is great, comfortable rooms, very clean, and within walking distance of almost everything. If you go, go to the poker bar near the Voodoo Lounge and meet Wendy. What an outstanding person, and one of the reasons we go back. She knows wht customer service is all about and should be put in charge of Harrahs employee training. Well worth the trip, and a great place to stay.

For my husband's birthday, we stayed in a 25th level suite with a view of the Mississippi River and also Lake Pontchartrain. The room was well equipped, beautifully furnished and had a luxurious bath. It was the perfect spot for day trips around New Orleans.
Even though we are local New Orleanians, we enjoy spending time in the downtown area and playing like tourists. So many locals live in suburbs and do not appreciate the culture, history and events of the downtown area and French Quarter.
I have seen many children at the buffet, and they are permitted to enter and walk to the buffet with no problems, however, there is no discount for them.
I wish the casino did have non smoking areas. They tried doing that for a time and it did not work out, We spend little time in the casino when visiting Harrah's, but do earn enough time so that we do not have to pay to park our vehicle. There are also free drinks served directly from the slot machines, or ordered free while playing the table games.

Room Tip: Ask for a suite on the 25th or 26th floor, if available. The view is incredible.

Stayed there during a week very nice rooms and service. If you don't what to pay a $38 for parking need to play 30 minutes in the casino, which unfortunately they allow smoking and it smells like an cheap bar ash tray.

Not the best Harrah's property. The casino is not huge but the slot selection is OK and many are new. There is plenty of room to get around. Drinks are pricey - $6 well gin and tonic. (MS casinos offer free drinks). The buffet had good points and bad. The shrimp was great and surprisingly deveined (they aren't in MS and AL). The salad bar was very nice. Some entrée foods weren't as hot as they should have been but the selection was nice. Limited desserts. The rooms were just OK. Our shower was horrible. The bed and pillows weren't exceptional. They claim to be "green" so we hung our towels to reuse and they were all replaced. The trash cans were so full of new bags for future use, that there wasn't any room for trash. Internet fees ($10 or 12 ish), when McD's is free! We were told at check in that if you want a room with a view, get there at 3. We arrived around 4:30. Room had frig. Super friendly staff everywhere. Good location. Short, covered walk to building with tunnel to casino.

First time back to New Orleans in a while.
Harrahs was the right choice near the water, casino if I ventured although buffet was just okay
Near convention center and not a long walk to Bourbon st for dinner or more
Check in could have been better although early felt like I was punished to sit and wait for a clean room when first they said we had a nice room for you. Guess I should be gambling more if you want better service as I did not feel very welcomed. Actually seemed like they were doing me the favor. Room was okay and not so modern but no problems. Elevators were slow and busy but not terrible. Hotel environment seemed like always a party which is true in New Orleans so an enjoyable stay and most staff were friendly. Okay but nothing special

Worst service experience ever. We were celebrating our anniversary, and traveling with our mother, who is a 7 star member with harrah's and has been for years. We selected this location due to a $300 gift card offer she had from total rewards, which she was gifting to us as our christmas gift. This was in august of 2013. They never sent the git card, and we have made countless contact to the organization, and have been told that it has been reissued, never came again, and now been told reissued again but has still not been sent. AT EVERY interaction with their staff it was met with "an attitude of indifference". They do not return promised follow up calls, provide the information that they promise, and honestly do not care about your experience WHAT SO EVER. The service they have provided has turned what was supposed to be a memorable celebration, to a memory of anger, not to mention wasted countless amounts of my time, and lied to use repeatedly. I cannot believe the way that they have treated my mother and my family, who i must mention have always been advocates of harrahs, always staying and playing at their resorts exclusively, spending over $100K a year for countless years at their resorts. It is not about the value of the gift card, it is the principle of how poor their service has been. I work hard for my money and i am sure you do to, so if you want a memorable experience, do your self a favor and stay away for harrah's and affiliate resorts, find a place who actually understands hospitality. The hotel was average, and the food was sub-standard. Most extra services like turn down service, etc, which we are accustomed to were neglected nearly every night. We travel all over, all them time, and this is by far the worst experience i have ever had. Sure i have had negative experiences before, but never one bad enough to be compelled to share a review with other travelers, this is my first! I will never spend another penny of my money with this organization again. We have had to file countless complaints, even with the corporate headquarters, and have not even resolved the issue to date.
