We exchanged some RCI points to stay at the Quarter House located in the French Quarter, a perfect place to begin seeing a lot of New Orleans sights. The building is really several that have been merged together into a very large location. Each unit is unique in size and configuration. We had a one bedroom unit on the 4th floor. Our bedroom was in an interior location so we slept wonderfully – absolutely no late night noise at all. The unit was tastefully decorated and had a touch of what I felt was old New Orleans, high wainscoting, rich wall colors or exposed bricks and a fancy chandelier light in the main room. The full kitchen was nice, but without a car, we didn’t really have the opportunity to make use of it as we didn’t shop for groceries nor did we see a store nearby. We didn’t really look either as there are a lot of great places to eat in New Orleans! Without kids, it wasn’t a priority.

The front desk staff was wonderful at recommending specific tour companies, directions, places to see and restaurant options. Every choice was a good value. They had several things going on during our stay, Sunday brunch, Monday food tasting and Tuesday wine and cheese afternoon, but we were too busy elsewhere to participate. I suggest anyone who does not know the city to make use of their concierge services.

We did not feel constricted at all without a car, although we did not want to explore the nearly countryside as there is plenty to see right in New Orleans itself. We walked around the immediate area or took one of 3 streetcar lines that are all a short walk from the Quarter House and cost $1.25 a ride or $3.00 per day. Several tours had pickup at the front door (use the desk staff to book).

Helpful hint: if there are 2 or more people in your party, a taxi is less expensive that using the shuttle bus to the Quarter House, even if you pay the round trip “discount” pre-pay price for the shuttle bus.

Our week included the French Quarter music festival, an added bonus. The entire French Quarter was super filled with people and there was music on a number of stages throughout the Quarter. We got a chance to see a bit of it on Sunday wishing we had done more but still thrilled we were enjoying the city.

New Orleans is on our “visit again” list for sure!

Room Tip: Our inside room was extremely quiet. Not sure if you can choose a specific room when exchanging thro...

Stayed overnight with a friend 4/9/2013 As Harrah's was booked . I found the location " OK " for daytime roaming but as a female I did not feel safe leaving after dark . The suite was nice but small and the living room backed up to the alley where service and delivery started at the crack of dawn , which proved to be very noisey . It was ok to have a kitchen , but who cooks on vacation. There was a very small pool and an even smaller hot tub . There was one gentleman in the HOT TUB his wife sat on the edge and just dangled her feet in the water as she could NOT fit . As for the POOL it is a 2 Person pool and it stayed empty . This is a non-smoking property so thefor you have to leave your unit and go out in the Court Yard to smoke . Having said all of this I would never PAY to stay here . I was GLAD I was able to check in at HARRAH'S the next day

Room Tip: Higher floors here less noise . If you smoke or like to swim or use the HOT TUB while on vacation t...

Agree the location is exceptional, the units small but attractive, the staff helpful, amenities top notch. The BUT is the noise. We were in room 109, first floor just off the lovely courtyard. We were awakened every morning by guests coming into the courtyard for coffee, cigarets, etc. or by the cleaning crew. Every night we were kept awake by folks in the courtyard - chatting, drinking sometimes till 2 AM etc. - by all means, get some ear plugs if you are assigned to that particular room.

Spent the week of March 29th at this renovated hotel in the French Quarter. Location is fantastic....we parked our car at the hotels parking lot ($20 a day) and left it there the entire week! Everything is within walking distance or a short bus/streetcar ride away. Unit was a one bedroom, small but adequate for two, mini kitchen, small living room and bedroom with king bed. The resort offered a delicious welcome wine and appetizer hour, a yummy breakfast and a New Orleans mini meal on three occasions. Swimming pool VERY small. Resort better for adults versus children, but then so is The French Quarter.. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable and very efficient. Check in and check out we're flawless. One complaint.....wireless signal (free) was very inconsistent. Definitely would stay here again.

The Quarter House in French Quarter, NOLA, YES, I would stay here again (only been there twice) if the prices could match my May budget. Perfect Locale and Safety, Security, Convienance are at the TOP of the list. Great little "resting" place with personable service. The rooms and pool/fountain are top of the line. A nice get-away from the Bourbon Street crowd and convienent to CBD, French Market, Garden District, and trolleys. Great vacation at the Quarter House.

The Quarter House is located within short walking distance to all the must see places, bourbon street, cafe du monde, Jackson square ... It is also far enough from the craziness in Bourbon Street. There are countless bars and great restaurants within couple of blocks radius. The hotel (I won't call it a resort) has a cute little courtyard where guest services host a free Sunday breakfast, Monday lunch, and Tuesday afternoon snack. The gym is pathetically small and a bit dated. You need to turn in your ID at the front desk in order to get a key for the treadmill. All staff members were very friendly and helpful.

The Quarter House Resort is a quaint New Orleans hotel located in the middle of EVERYTHING! Room 303 could use a bit of sprucing up, but the unit was very clean and neat. The staff where friendly and very helpful throughout our stay.
