“Cancelled us with less than 48 hours notice”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2012

We reserved a room for a week's vacation 10 months in advance and with less than 48 hours notice from our departure date/time, we were notified that they were overbooked and our reservation was cancelled. We already had a flight booked and transportation arranged from the airport to the hotel. We had to scramble and find another place to stay as well as changing the ground transportation from the airport. Obviously we did not stay there but cannot recommend a business with such poor commitment to its clientele.

This property (Interval time share exchange)was a wonderful choice for our trip to new Orleans. It is located in the French Quarter and within walking distance of just about everything. Our unit was beatifully decorated and reminded us a little of what might have been the decor in th 1900s only updated and fresh. The suite had 2 baths a large bedroom, living room dining kitchen combo. The bedroom was located in the center of the unit and was noise free. Smoking in the hotel is still permitted and every once in a while you would get the stale cigarette smell especially when the weather was rainy.
Some of the nite spots near by looked a little dicey but we always felt safe and the building was very secure.
Staff was friendly and always willing to help. We would go there again.

We loved the quarter house, room was beautiful, had the old style look and feel and everything worked well. The staff was wonderful, very attentive and knowledgable. The walls were a little, thin, we had an elderly woman next to us who insisted on talking very loud, we were able to here her several times. Other than that I wouldn't have changed a thing about this place. When I visit New Orleans again I will be trying to stay at the quarter house if I can. The location is outstanding.

Stayed here with my sister and two friends from July 7-9, 2012. We loved it. My travel partners insisted on becoming timeshare owners after seeing and staying at the resort. The resort is in a great location and close to anything you may need, grocery store, drug store, parties, city activities and what ever else you may desire. You will not need a car as the cost to park it will cost you more than just catching a cab from the airport. The resort staff was friendly and always welcoming as we entered and exited. The pool and court yard is small but intimate. Not really big for a party by all means.

The area has food establishments close. We ate at one a few doors down that we did not care for at all. We had to wait outside to be seat due to the eatery being small. You could not sit in a booth unless you were a party of five. No substitutes of any meal items at all. Needless to say we ended up leaving and eating else where.

We truly enjoyed ourselves and the resort. I am a timeshare owner and booked through RCI and I am could not wait to book for next year and I have. I can not wait to return to the resort. I have visited New Orleans before and have stayed at another resort which too is very nice but I truly loved this resort and its closer to Bourbon Street.

The only thing I would say that bothered my was that wheelchair ramps stayed down the entire stay that blocked the stairs and I kept thing maybe one of us would fall or the ramp would give if we walked on it.

We stayed in a studio and it was four of us and there were no complaints at all. Great Vacation!!

We were guests of some very close friends who had booked the hotel as a time share. For the positives: First, it seemed that almost everyone who worked there had a genuine smile on their face. And once passed the extremely ordinary front desk area, the walk into the courtyard is really nice. The charm of the hotel is the red brick and the decor. No question that it had a nice French Quarter feeling. The rooms were pretty small, but comfortable. However, where I begin to slam this hotel is that we found 3 very large roaches in the bedroom (2 were dead, 1 was dying). Huge as in the 2 to 3 inch range. In the bed were smaller bugs (not bedbugs). After finding these, my wife and I never felt the room was clean even though it looked clean.

If it weren't for the bugs, I'd give it a solid 3 to 3.5 stars (if I could do 3.5).

We just spent a week in the quarter house, and we're very very pleased. Everyone was so nice and amazing. Very helpful in every way. Your in the center of everything. The bus is very easy to get around in from canal st. Which is a few steps away. The rest is all connected. Venture to Frenchman st. If you desire a place that is not tourist centered. Lots of art, blues, locals....the heart of new Orleans. We went on the evening gator/swamp tour. It was excellent! Johnny's has the best po boys!!!!!! Daisy dukes, which is literally next door, is a great place to eat 24 hours a day. We brought 2 children.... And had a great time. We love our family at the quarter house. Take the time and talk to the locals, super friendly people. Xxxxxx

Room Tip: We had the two bedroom suite.... Very nice and roomy

We exchanged our timeshare for the Quarter House and were greatly surprised and comfortable with the resort. It was steps away from Canal Street (the main street in the French Quarter) which has lots of name brand shopping even Walgreens and CVS for everyday items. We have a one bedroom timeshare, but were upgraded to the penthouse suite. Needless to say it was huge. It had an upstairs and downstairs. A full living room, dining room, fully equipped kitchen, 2 baths, 2 bedrooms, washer and dryer, tons of closets, king sized bed in the master bedroom with mirrors on the ceiling. jacuzzi tubs in both bathrooms, a sitting area upstairs and skylights. NO windows, however. It was clean and had daily maid service. Some of the items were missing from the kitchen inventory, I made note of it, and told the front desk. It was fine, and if we needed something they would have gotten it for us. The courtyard is very small, and so is the pool. There was another private courtyard with vending machine and an ice machine. Sunday breakfast is free and was delicious, also 24/7 coffee and tea in the lobby. Everything was clean and neat inside the resort, but many of the streets off Canal were not as well taken care of. I did see them scrubbing the sidewalks early in the morning. Daisy Dukes is two doors down, and has great comfort food and drink specials ($2.99 breakfast special til 9 a.m.) Jimmy J's is a little more pricy, but still within the very affordable range. Lots of small convenience stores on every corner. Bourbon Street was wild on the weekend. You have to just walk down it to experience it at least once. Lots of bars and people watching is fun!!! I wouldn't bring a child to that area. If you drive there, parking is $20.00 per day at a parking garage around the corner. Most of the streets are one way. No need to rent a car if you fly to New Orleans, the streetcars and buses run all day and most of the night. $3.00 per day ticket gets you unlimited rides anywhere they go. You may have to get off one, and wait for another, but the wait is only minutes. But everything is so close by that walking is the easiest way to get around. Harrah's casino is a 5 minute walk away. The staff was very helpful and courteous. There was an ATM and a computer in the lobby which was free to connect to the internet. A small fitness center had treadmills, and the bowflex unit was broken, but had a television and great air conditioning in it. No sauna, steamroom, or hot tub. If you are traveling around the first week of August the Satchmo Jazz Festival takes place usually around the 3,4,5. It was free, had lots of things for kids to do, and food booths had traditional New Orleans goodies from $5 to $10 for a huge plate of food prepared by local restaurants. Music at 2 separate locations was all day from noon to 8 at night. Other than it being very HOT and HUMID..I loved my first experience in the French Quarter. I plan on returning, but probably in early spring when the weather is more comfortable.
