Elysian Fields Inn was exactly what we were looking for for our NOLA visit -- a charming and comfortable B&B within walking distance of the downtown sites but far enough away from the mayhem of Bourbon Street. The breakfasts were wonderful; the PC with Internet was handy; the tour and dining suggestions were helpful; being an airport shuttle stop was a big plus; and we even enjoyed the Aveda bath products. We would definitely recommend Elysian Fields to travellers looking for a cozy oasis rather than an impersonal or imposing chain hotel.

My husband and I stayed at Elysian Fields in November in the suite. Where can I begin? Sal and Gregg are absolutely amazing - i knew it, as soon as I spoke with Sal on the phone to book the room. They welcome every guest warmly and helpfully answered every question we had, including where to eat (loved Muriels!). Our suite was at the front of the house and we never experienced ANY problems with noise (no, i didn't use the earplugs). I wholeheartedly recommend the extra money for the suite - it was gorgeous! Gregg makes a fabulous breakfast to start the day. The use of the kitchen facilities was great - we just stored some snacks and drinks, but you could create a six-course meal with everything they provided in that kitchen! They even let us stay in our room later because our plane wasn't leaving until late afternoon. They have thought of all these seemingly small things, that really make a big difference. The location couldn't have been better. Frenchman St has many great places for music (Bourbon St. grows tiresome with the thick crowds), there's a great cafe, some restaurants, and a bike place - we rented bikes one day and found it a great way to explore the Garden District. We easily walked to the French Quarter or took a very cheap cab ride when we were feeling lazy.
I did a TON of research before I booked and I couldn't have been happier with my choice. The glowing reviews are all true! Congratulations Sal and Gregg - you have created a wonderful success!

After doing extensive research for our trip to New Orleans, we decided to book our stay at Elysian Fields Inn and we could not have been happier with that decision.
Super hosts, great room with private bathroom and Jacuzzi tub, computer to check e-mail, great breakfasts and perfect, perfect location. Spent our days in the FQ or Garden District and most of our evenings on Frenchmen Street. Every restaurant suggestion that Sal and Gregg gave us were top-notch and then just being able to leave the restaurant and wander Frenchmen Street listening to music and watching people made our vacation as close to perfect as we could have ever imagined.
The B&B itself is beautiful and every detail seems to have been thought of ahead of time. We just felt like we were their number 1 priority during our stay and, speaking to other guests at breakfast, they all felt the same way.
Definitely would stay here again and have already told my son-in-law to book his stay there on his upcoming trip. Thanks Sal. Thanks Gregg. We won't forget your hospitality.

Elysian Fields Inn is the best place. The Elysian Fields is located close to the French Quarter that you can walk everywhere and dont have to worry about parking. It is luxusy at it's finest, that you feel like a millionaire. Sal and Greg are the best and make u feel like your at home. This is the place to be when in New Orleans. If you want to feel like royalty.

We felt very much at home at Elysian Fields Inn during our recent visit to New Orleans. You'll not find a more accomodating staff anywhere than Gregg & Sal.
This B&B was recommended by good friends that had stayed there. We were very pleased with the location. Just a short walk away from all the noise yet close enough that we were able to walk everywhere. And, we felt perfectly safe in doing so.
Not sure what "Disappointed" was talking about in the previous review. We stayed in the same room, the front room by the street. We never noticed any traffic noise, horns or trains.
