This is a wonderful privately owned movie house that is a throw-back to the 50's and 60's. Was featured in the wonderful New Orleans novel, A Confederacy of Dunces". Located in a safe pretty section of uptown New Orleans.

“I love this theatre”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

It's old and classic. It's the kind of theatre the patrons ran out of when the Blob was coming through the vents. Just one screen, one ticket taker and a balcony that you can actually sit in. If you can catch one of the daytime classic showings, you'll be treated to coffee and cake after the movie, and a dissertation by the owner of the theatre before the movie. Not many people plan to go to the movies during a vacation, but it's a nice way to spend a midweek afternoon.

“Classic New Orleans Theatre”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2012

One of the best places to watch a movie in New Orleans and the best to watch classic or late night movies. There is only one screen here so check their website for showings. It doesn’t offer the multiple screens or stadium seating of modern cinemas, but it does offer a slice of nostalgia that makes the movie going experience more than just sitting down and looking at a screen for two hours. Save the blockbusters for the modern world and come here for a classic screening or a late night camp film.
