We had tried to get a reservation at Cochon on other visits to New Orleans with no luck ... On this trip, we did! Located in the warehouse/arts district, Cochon is a low key, high-energy foodie delight serving farm-to-table Cajun Southern fare. We started with the wood-fired oyster roast (wow) then on to the rabbit & dumplings (delicious light dumplings with tender rabbit in a yummy gravy) and the oven roasted gulf fish "fisherman style" (perfect) with a side of Lima beans (not just the ordinary). The staff was friendly and well-trained ... and good drinks, try the Orange Whiskey Cocktail! We will return and would recommend it to everyone ... but, make a reservation ahead (weekdays are easier).

First time there, but it was worth the wait from the Pork cheek terrine to the rabbit and dumplings it was great. We tried the wood-fired oyster roast, sautéed shrimp with grit cakes. All 8 of us had a great meal and at the end it was a great meal at a good price. We all recommend this great place!!!

The food was very good---we had soups, oysters and I had the liver appetizer....so few places serve fried chicken livers so that was a special treat for me.

Came with a few colleagues and the food was just fantastic! Didn't care for the fried alligator but would recommend the following dishes: fried boudin with pickled peppers, smoked pork ribs with watermelon pickle, eggplant & shrimp dressing and louisiana cochon with turnips, cabbage, pickled turnips & cracklins. The last one was average for $23 but the other three were very good! Highly recommended!

Tried their signature dish, the pork. Very bland. Didn't enjoy the free appetizer either. It was fun sitting at the counter by the kitchen.
