I almost hesitate to write this, because The Saint is such a hidden gem, I hate for it to be discovered. But it is well worth the word getting out! Great location on Canal, right next door to the Ritz Carlton, and across from the Roosevelt. Very hip and cool. The service is wonderful and the restaurant - Sweet Olive- is not to be missed. If you have time, try their sister restaurant, Coquette, in the Garden District also.
The rooms are not large, but they are very clean and contemporary. Some have exposed brick walls but all are decorated in crisp pure white, with white faux leather accents and cool metal art in the bathrooms. Not your Ritz or Windsor Court, but fun for a change and definitely worth a stay!

Having travelled for 24 years around all of the USA and most of the world, this hotel will leave us with a memory and all for the wrong reasons. I suspect some of the previous reviews have been left by management connected to this chain but we found the experience exhaustive to say the least. The lady on the front desk is well out of her depth and her customer service skills well short of what I would expect from a boutique hotel like this. The decor is not to our liking and the corridors are so poorly lit and give an uneasy feeling. The rooms are tiny and presented in lots of fake white leather which would appeal to maybe a lady from 'the night'. Breakfast consists of a few bagels and 3 small cakes, no hot alternative is available. My laundry was delivered at 0525 in the morning despite a Do Not Disturb sign on the door. If staying in New Orleans again I would choose one of the many other hotels close by.

Spike,
Thanks for the feedback! It is unfortunate that you didn't have a great experience, the vast majority of our guests rave about the decor and the service they receive. I wish I had enough time on my hands to write my own reviews, I would welcome that luxury and would certainly be more effusive, I love the hotel and it's a great place to work. Please accept my heartfelt apologies for any shortcomings you experienced, I hope you give us another chance but it sounds like we're not your style.
Cheers!

This new hotel on Canal Street really has it all going on! Beautiful decor, attentive well trained staff from the doorman in and cool music in the lounge. But it's real secret weapon is its restaurant, Sweet Olive. The food is to die for - contemporary Louisiana with an innovative flair - really high- end dining without pretension. Wonderful ingredients, locally & seasonally sourced, cooked to perfection and beautifully presented by attentive and friendly wait staff. Do try to leave space for dessert - the Twisted Elvis or the Banana pudding will send you straight to Heaven!
We were not staying at The Saint (having booked into the Ritz next door) and had gone there by chance to try out the restaurant. We're so glad we did - next time we're in New Orleans we'll book The Saint, it's up there on Cloud 9!

We recently stayed at The Saint, a newly opened boutique hotel on Canal Street. It's a great location for exploring the French Quarter, situated next door to the Ritz Carlton. Loved the newly renovated building, including expansive two story lobby, intimate bar and restaurant on the ground floor. There's also going to be a rooftop Tiki bar, but that was still under construction in January when we were there. There are two computers available for guests, located behind the reception desk. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There was some issue with our reservation because they were in the middle of transitioning to the Marriott's reservation system, but they took care of it quickly. Our king room was good sized with large windows, clean modern furnishings and a nice bathrooms. The hallways are a little spooky, very dark with blue halogen lighting. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.

Just got back from a stay at the brand new Saint Hotel in New Orleans. Location was perfect and very close to the French Quarter without being in the center of it. Lobby, bar, rooms were beyond compare. Very Miami Hot. Wonderful service with an incredible amount of attention to detail. The best hotel in New Orleans by far. We will be back!

My wife and I just got back from New Orleans and staying at The Saint Hotel. We were in New Orleans to celebrate my wife's birthday, and the hotel was perfect for that. Due to flight times, I was able to check into The Saint early and the staff worked to get a room with a Canal Street view. That was great considering the parades started this past weekend. We spent most of Friday night at the lounge in the Hotel. It was a great place to have drinks and relax. The staff in the lounge was also very good, and even got my wife some Strawberries. The front desk always called us by our name as we left and returned to the hotel. The rooms were modern, but was pefect.
Overall, I dont have anything negative about The Saint, and would stay there again on my next trip to New Orleans.
