Excellent food and service. So glad to get out of the touristy area and enjoy excellent food. Cafe A Lait was delicious.

“A cut above”
Reviewed May 13, 2012

Mexican-German chef Guillermo Peters shows us how sophisticated Mexican cuisine can be while also showing his continental cuisine skills with the city's best schnitzel. In a pretty Victorian house in Mid-City; the breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus offer something different from the usual New Orleans fare. Excellent tequila and wine selection plus gracious service. What a nice addition to our city's great restaurant scene. Closed Tues., dinner Wed. to Sat.

“A great escape from gumbo!”
Reviewed March 26, 2012

Eventually we tired of gumbo and fried crawfish, and needed something light, fresh, and innovative. Canal Street Bistro was the answer to our prayers! We had a wonderful lunch and were treated to perfect service. All in a pleasant neighbourhood.... just a short distance from the French Quarter but seemingly a world away.
