“Good Breakfast Away from Boubon”
Reviewed February 27, 2013

We decided to eat breakfast here because it was a block from our hotel, the Maison Dupuy. The have plenty of the standard options for breakfast. But they also seem to run a lot of both meal and drink specials. We both ordered breakfast specials, one was the smoked salmon benedict and the other was the southern benedict. Probably could have just shared one meal. There was a lot of food. The southern benedict was awesome with bacon grease greens, eggs and sauce all over a spicy corn bread. The bloody marys were also one special...good and spicy.

Check this place out as a good alternative to eating in the French Quarter but away from Bourbon Street. They seem to offer good drink specials each day. Many days they ran specials on breakfast drinks then an afternoon happy hour with good and inexpensive wines.

“Eat here.”

Étouffée. Brussels sprouts. Amazing. Great service in the restaurant, less so in the bar. I would eat here any day.

“Excellent Breakfast at this Hidden Place”
Reviewed February 2, 2013

We found this restaurant sort of by accident. Our friends were staying at the Hotel St. Marie and we were staying a few blocks away at the J. W. Marriott on Canal and we had struck out the past two mornings looking for a very good breakfast restaurant. Our friends invited us over for breakfast one morning and so we met them at their hotel (which is connected to the Vacherie). They were sitting in a very quaint courtyard and we walked over to join them. The atmosphere was perfect, beautiful weather, friendly people and great service. For breafast, I tried the Andouille hash- which came with andouille sausage, diced potatoes, diced onions, red peppers, green onions, and it was topped with poached eggs and Hollandaise, and served with choice of bread for only $13. It was DELISCIOUS! (see photos). My wife had the Boudin Benedict which came with two boudin patties, smothered collards, poached eggs, Creole hollandaise, and potatoes also for $13. She really enjoyed her meal as well. I wish I had eaten at the Vacherie that previous two days! It was that good! And the service was great as well.

“When in New Orleans, you must try”
Reviewed January 21, 2013

We found this place online as one a good place to have a southern style Sunday brunch.
First off the food was delicious! We ordered off the brunch menu and nothing was over $18. We ordered the smoked salmon Benedict, potatoes, warm biscuits, crawfish frittata and mint juleps.
Everything was delicious!
Our waitress was super accommodating and attentive, we also had the restaurant manager (maybe owner) come by and asked as us if we needed anything and even took the time to tell us where to visit some great places in New Orleans.
We sat outside patio area in the warm breeze and sipped mint juleps while looking at a beautiful pool and palm trees and even though the restaurant closed to prepare for dinner, the staff did not rush us or tell us to leave.
Will definitely return!

“Romantic setting with wonderful staff”
Reviewed January 18, 2013

Returning from a lousy dining experience from Drago's we decided to have dessert at our hotels restaurant. As soon as we walked into Vacherie the soft candlelight and the wonderful staff we felt this was going to be a wonderful experience and it was..the room is intimate and very clean. ...The staff could not be more helpful with a cheerful attitude and all smiles. I wish we could remember the girls name...that waited on us... she was the head of the waitress staff and boy does she take care of you. The food was very good. The next night we came down for dinner and we were greeted like old friends....so nice ..We cannot say enough good things about this restaurant....We enjoyed the crab au gratin appetizer served in a cast iron skillet with delicious french bread....Our entrees were very good my husband had a steak sandwich and I had a shrimp dish both were delicious....we decided to have dinner here for the rest of our stay and it was great.....you will not be disappointed.....
